I’ve always been interested in the idea of canning, but it’s not really a thing in the UK

I suspect it’s more common in the more rural areas.

Or with the city people who manage to have an allotment.

Visiting Rushmore as a non-American is even weirder than you imagine.

The levels of over the top blatantly performative “patriotism” is quite bizarre to be surrounded by.

And the suspicious looks we got for not participating enthusiastically was discomforting (no, I’m not going to recite a pledge of allegiance to your country. Why would you expect me to?)

That’s just a software problem. Not all that difficult, assuming the hardware manufacturers don’t lock you into some bullshit locked down proprietary cloud control thing.

Check what services your library card gives you free access to.

This kind of thing is why I still print out all the travel related stuff when I’m going anywhere.

Having that paper copy in my pocket as a backup gives me a lot of peace of mind.

Getting g a mortgage just before the rates started skyrocketing seems to have been a good choice.

Hopefully you are locked in for long enough that the rates can return to some sort of sane level before you need to renew.

how similar are other North American countries to USA??

I mean the other 2 countries, Canada and Mexico, how similar are both of them to United States?? Both countries have a similar economy and democracy etc, and I think those two countries share things like supermarkets, stores, etc. I suppose the cultural differences are not a lot, that is very nice.

Regular watch.

My good old Timex Ironman has survived tons of physical abuse over the decade or more ive had it, and it’s battery only needs my attention every few years. I doubt a smart watch would improve either of those scenarios.

Plus, I don’t see any value added to my life by having phone features on a smaller, harder to read screen. If I want to use phone features, my actual phone is less than a foot from my wrist.

Some assumptions are common with teleporting.

If it takes the same time to travel 10 meters or 10000 kilometers that kinda implies faster than light.

world travel becomes something possible to do any time of any day on a whim, you could do anything.

I feel like Greek food for lunch, suddenly appears at a cafe in Athens.

Maybe some chocolate for dessert, pops into Switzerland for a moment , then back home in time for my kid’s soccer game.
