So I was looking into getting port forwarding set up and I realized just how closed-off the internet has gotten since the early days. It’s concerning. It used to be you would buy your own router and connect it to the internet, and that router would control port-forwarding and what-have-you....
So I am planning on buying an ipad, never owned one before. LOL I wouldn’t recommend it. Stay with Android if you want to do practically anything outside the official app store. I use an iphone and an android tablet.
edit: Jailbreaking is a thing, but it’s a pain in the ass and you’re stuck on old iOS versions until the jailbreaks get updated, which could be a long while.
Are there any safe, functional apps for iOS mobile devices (specifically iPhone, but iPad would be nice too) that let you use Youtube without ads? Something like what Youtube Revanced is for Android.
It looks like they just went with an unusual aspect ratio to artificially make it seem “even more widescreen”, which isn’t unheard of. Lawrence of Arabia was 2.20:1 or 2.35:1 depending on 70mm vs 35mm.
If you look at this cheat sheet, 2.20:1 isn’t even on there, and 2.35:1 is an oddball 1920x817.
So, could be normal, or maybe not.
edit: the wikipedia page for it says
”To give the film the feel of classic Hollywood epics like Ben-Hur, the filmmakers opted to shoot the film in 2.76:1 ultra-wide aspect ratio.”
My favorite Arch interaction I’ve read was where someone asked the best way to change the theming of a certain distro, and an Arch dude took issue with this, saying that if they wanted something different they should just use a different distro or create their own, instead of disrespecting the vision of the distro creators. This, over changing the theme, for which options are built-in, and which is the base minimal type of customization you can do on any OS, for a distro type where a primary selling point is endless customization compared to other distros.

I remember shortly after college I was living with a couple of people and one day we all heard “NOOOOOOOOOO!” and went running to see what tragedy happened. He had started formatting the one porn drive he had been collecting on over the last few years.

“Now I realize, well, that was stupid,” she said. “But I bought them because I believed President Trump, because he knows all about finance, and he was going to help the real Trump Patriots get rich.”
Admits to being stupid and then exercises more of it.
The inherent fallacy in your argument is that a link is a “bad” link simply because it goes to an original source instead of always being redirected to you via a third party that circumvents what you don’t like.
If someone posts a link to a original non-misinformation news article and it gets marked as a “bad” link, that’s actually a bug.
A fun fact about taste for you - there is actually no such thing as a ‘taste map,’ or the idea that different areas of the tongue result in you tasting different things. At most, there’s just different regions of sensitivity to taste!
Always thought this was weird and didn’t make sense to my tongue.
You might’ve been taught that lemmings are known to commit suicide because they’re just that unintelligent. Turns out, this isn’t true - they’re smart enough to stay alive!
