I wouldn’t expect that kind of price anymore except for the Zero models.

The issue is with support not giving you an adequate account recovery method, they’re correct about validating ownership of the account tho.

I buy my favorite games from GOG when they’re there so that I can keep the install files forever.

Looking for Notes App for Android & Linux

I am trying to slowly de-Google-ify myself by moving to open source apps, I wanna ditch google notes and evernote. I tried obsidian, standard notes, and joplin, I liked using obsidian on PC and standard notes looks nice on android but obsidian you need to pay to have sync and standard notes doesn’t do markdown unless you pay...

Joplin with Syncthing works well for me.

Handbrake would be the easiest. For commercial DVDs, you just need to add in your Handbrake install directory and it will bypass the copy protection.

For the container I’d suggest going with MKV. For the video codec you can go with x265 (HEVC) with a CRF/RF of 22, which should give you a good balance between quality and size. For the audio you can copy it as-is.

I might move again. (Or not) (lemy.lol)

I moved from Lemmy.ml because I liked the name of Lemmy.world and it ran a newer Lemmy version which meant I could make communities. I moved from Lemmy.world because they defederated from piracy communities they didn’t even host (but for some reason still kept the small piracy community they DID host) From thelemmy.club...

Bring back standardised headlight, and a maximum height allowance on vehicle’s headlights so that they’re not right in a sedan’s driver’s rearview mirror when a pickup is tailgating.

But ultimately this will only strenghten Microsoft’s moat on AI, which is bad for everyone.

A warp doesn’t technically lose the information, it merely displaces it. A good blur algorithm on the other hand will lead to loss of information.

And decent pirated movies/TV shows will already come with the subtitles embedded in the video container nowadays, which is great.

The proper emailing etiquette is to CC people who don’t need to take action (informational) while those who are emailed directly are expected to do something. At least that’s how I operate.

If the laptop came preinstalled with Windows you can likely reinstall the same version (Home or Pro) by using the utility from Microsoft to build a bootable USB drive, and it will auto-activate.

No need to pirate anything, you already have a license.

But God has the challenge of starting with a minuscule room, expand the cabling as it goes without being able to unplug or replace any cables or move servers during the lifetime of the system, and can’t afford any downtime or shutdown for maintenance.
