shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in What's a movie you don't really watch but your damn proud to have on your shelf?

The animated LotR

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in If reality wasn't wholly rational, could one ever come to terms with it, or would one rationalize it instead?

It probably would be rationalized up until a loophole in the laws of physics is found, at which point its sheer incomprehensibility would corrupt our existences.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in How do you deal with the thought of having to work for 40+ years and then when/if you retire, you're too old to do much?

Living with disability like I do means that process has sped up significantly.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in What are you drinking tonight, and is it what you really want to be drinking?

Hot vanilla. You know, like hot chocolate but it’s vanilla. Not a fan, but every other drink on hand were cold drinks, and I craved something warm.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in How do I stop a crush from developing further?

Think of all the aspects you like about her and think of all the ways they might be impractical. I know someone who said they had a crush on “the most delicate person I could have met” and I asked “but would delicacy be good for parenting” and then her crush ended.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in Other than Lemmy, what are you doing tonight?

Reddit too.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in What are some problems that countries outside the U.S. are dealing with?

Pitcairn has appealed for independence. The outcome is probably predictable.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in Why do people on YouTube say "Lol they liked their own comment"? How do they know, and also I thought YouTube discredited self-likes?

That’s the neat part, they don’t.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in If Trump loses in 2024, do you think he'd run in 2028?

He did serve for two terms. Back then, that was the most someone could do. The idea he could’ve been a monarch if he wished isn’t exactly accurate given the combination of public pressure, the way other founding fathers weighed in, and the fact that America’s then-neighboring allies the Haudenosaunee civilization was already a democracy superior to even the ancient Greeks.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in What software do you wish that existed?

There aren’t a lot of software I wish existed, but there is one I’m helping to work on. Having a similar concept to the Hypothesis toolbar, it’s a fanmade combination of Pokémon Go and a toolbar. Imagine, instead of travelling the world and seeing Pokémon superimposed on the world, you’re travelling the internet and see Pokémon superimposed on random webpages.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in If Trump loses in 2024, do you think he'd run in 2028?

Since when has a politician known when to quit?

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in What's something you're proud of doing?

It just so happens I’m proud of something I did two hours ago as I write this sentence. A friend of mine said they needed a constant companion for the time being, and another friend said they needed a certain demographic to be friends with, and after realizing the first friend fell under that demographic, I thought “wait, do these two people know each other”. Three hours ago as I write this sentence, I introduced them, and they really hit it off. I just made three people very happy.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in How do you cope with the state of the world today?

That’s the neat part, I don’t.

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in What is a niche interest or hobby you'd personally like to see represented more on Lemmy

Cryptography

shinigamiookamiryuu, to asklemmy in What physical features do you find attractive on a person that would be considered unattractive by your culture's beauty standards?

It’s not “unattractive”, but I know belly attraction is uncommon, especially as a straight woman, especially an asexual one. It’s more like one of those things where it’s less entirely a turn-on and more like a “cute” thing, but there’s nothing else about a guy I would look for when it comes to their physical properties.

Also, not speaking for me, but a friend of mine used to really have it in for people with speech impediments, even though the person he ended up with doesn’t have one. He says it has an air of innocence and that “accents are overrated if nobody is going to appreciate things like lisps”, but it’s like watching Brock.
