Ah, if the goal of a joke is to make people laugh, then your joke does not appear to be very popular. But perhaps you are making this joke just for yourself? Your motivations are unclear to me.

Nonetheless, I appreciate your clarification and civil reply. I now better understand your perspective, but I do not share it.

My assessment of your comment.

  1. If it makes you dislike the woman speaking. That seems fine.
  2. If it makes you dislike the woman listening. That seems fine, but I’d like to hear more context personally, such as her reply and the context of the conversation. For example, perhaps this was an out of context joke that didn’t land. It would also be important to know if the woman speaking had some sort of internet clout which could cause the listener to be afraid to disagree as it could harm her career and in the moment they’re attempting comedy, aka “yes and” technique. (Yes I apologize, lots of assumptions, its the nature of hypotheticals)
  3. If it makes you dislike all women including those not making these comments. That does not seem fine because that would be vast generalization at best and mysoginy at worst.

The third situation has led mentally unstable people to murder women based on immutable attributes outside of their control, such as their perceived attractiveness.

To quote your post :

This post makes me dislike women

That seems to fall into category three. Quite dangerous and potentially harmful to society.

A better wording could be :

This post makes me dislike that woman

I think that comment is understandable to most.

In this case, choosing the plural is an aggressive selection and causes you to seem bigoted.

The subtext of your comment that Trump could be a loving, gracious, accepting, and listening individual is endlessly fascinating to me. On those brief instances where I can convince my brain for just a moment that these images are genuine, I just feel happiness and hope.

Sure, it’s imagination, but it feels so nice to imagine there is an alternative universe where Donald Trump and Joe Biden spent the weekend hiking, picnicking, baking pies, knitting, and talking through to common ground. No division. No anger. No fear. No lies.

(Sigh)

Tbh I like that. That way no one but me can answer calls on my phone.

That’s what he has always done though?

“Bitching” is not inherently negative, though it is the most aggressive word I can think to mute criticism.

His job is tech criticism and info shares.

Frame it as bitching if you like, but your bias is showing.

Translation of your comment, “I don’t like _ and others shouldn’t either.”

Nah, we good. I like em.

| Find a hobby besides reading bad news on the internet, it’s not that hard

Actually it can be, when the same world that generates that news has commoditified every aspect of your existence to a transaction. Transactions you can’t afford.

You’re conflating debbie-downers with a generation of humans living a worse life than their parents. When a damn is cracked, overflowing with water, drowning people, the solution is not, “Hey just like, don’t pay attention, man! Life is good!”

That type of advice doesn’t go very far with starving, unhealthy (unable to afford health) people.

Some of us in the United States (me for example) can give you a list of people we know who have died because they were unable to afford insulin (first died in high school twenty years ago, most recent died last year), we know what our country has become because we cannot escape the damage it is inflicting on a generation, a generation poorer than the ones before.

It always bothered me when folks injected out of context Japanese and provided no explanation, but now I know some Japanese, so for the other folks here like me.

いいね is pronounced i-i-ne and translates to something like “nice”.

The comment below わかりました is pronounced wa-ka-ri-ma-shi-ta and translates to something like “I understand”.

And finally a note to the Japanese injectors. Almost no one likes when you inject Japanese out of context. If you are a student studying Japanese and inject it in context people would enjoy it more.

I accept my down votes if my observations are incorrect, have a nice day.

Well, its a federation. So the instances that wish to be associated with such, will be. And the ones that don’t, won’t be. Your language is limited by your concept of a website. Reconsider the concept if you wish and update your language accordingly. It will make your comments more clear.
