sukhmel,

No one even mentioned Georgia, the country that constantly gets advertising targeted for Georgia, the state.

sukhmel,

It was probably mentioned in other comments, but some infinities are “larger” than others. But yes, the product of the two with the same cardinal number will have the same

sukhmel,

For practical use it would be better to have an infinite supply rather than an infinite amount

sukhmel,

I didn’t search for the original article, but from some articles I saw, CP often resides on a physical medium, especially considering the article is about ten years ago

sukhmel,

I heard someone saying something along the lines of “a bolt is tightened until the thread breaks and then half a turn back”

Some really take that as an advice

sukhmel,

That’s going to add a lot to simplicity and ease of understanding, for sure. And don’t change the name of the scale or it will be too easy to distinguish them

What search engine do you recommend that isn't Google or Bing?

I’m still trying to de-Google my life, little by little. I don’t trust Bing for similar reasons. DDG is feeling shady of late. What’s the search engine you all recommend that I can inject into my daily life? Is there perhaps a search engine that is focused on code, or have we just all moved on to AI for searching?...

sukhmel,

I’m still using it but it was fun when they had something along the lines of “your privacy is safe with us. Also, wanna leave your email?” 😅

I am thinking of migrating to Kagi now, because search in DDG is often meh

sukhmel,

It looks like he’s trying to heal a patient with bloodletting. I think it might help to revive the economy, but also may be a disaster. Also I think that the social guarantees should at least be in force after things get better, if not the whole time. Trying to work things out for the country by putting the citizens in even worse position does not seem like a humane thing to do even if it works :(

sukhmel,

As far as I understand you, you’re just against fan fiction. I know some people that also think that whatever is non-canon shouldn’t be approached by reasonable people, but even they don’t think that it should be forbidden

sukhmel,

Plot twist: Genie is just impersonating a djinn, but in fact he’s an eldritch god 🌚

sukhmel,

I’d disagree with the last statement as negative results may still be useful. But I didn’t watch the video, maybe it really was not worth being made

sukhmel,

I second that this kind of licence seems very reasonable.

I find subscription licences to be frustrating but kind of reasonable, because those let the developers to focus on improving the product rather than making stuff broken on purpose to make the user pay for an upgrade. But that’s really controversial even in my own mind, don’t know if there’s a good solution but “magazine subscription” licence looks really good

sukhmel,

Akshully, the density plays its part becase of Archimedes force an atmosphere is applying to an object. The less dense an object is, the lighter it will weight for the same mass. E.g. the air baloon with helium inside will have a mass even higher that an empty one because of added helium mass, yet it may float up thus having a negative weight (in the atmosphere)

sukhmel,

This was anything but “mild irritation”. Makes me wonder what does a great irritation look like for you

sukhmel,

We once accidentally did this in China far off the usual tourist locations for foreigners. People were chilling outside sitting around the table and we mastook them for a café. The host told us about the errors of our ways but was hospitable enough to talk with us and offered some food, which we paid for. That was an interesting experience

sukhmel,

It suddenly got me that this may be seen as capitalism (regarded by some as apex idea of humanity) is driving humanity extinct. Quite a sad irony

sukhmel,

Oh, yes, the contractors, not-exactly-people existing only when convenient. And the conditions for them are usually bad even when their manager tries to improve those, because tops see no additional value in improving conditions for someone that doesn’t exist work in the main corp

sukhmel,

My ex-teamlead owns a yacht (if he didn’t sell it). The catch is that yacht is worth about $40 thousands, not $4 millions.

Also there was a person in USSR who built a yacht and circumnavigated the Earth on that, not everyone who do own a yach own that luxury slab of floating gold

sukhmel,

For decades may as well be anything from 20 years up, afaik patents may live for 50 years so this seems to work fine

sukhmel,

What matters is how it’s going to look on the résumé, not why you got the position 🌚

sukhmel,

Yes

sukhmel,

I’m not sure whether to agree or not, but he’s got the point in the following sense: if everyone will pirate and never donate to the creator, then the creator will get about zero returns and will likely go make a living doing something else.

So pirate + donate looks like more fair redistribution of wealth, while pirate + no pay looks like being greedy asshole same as corporations
