Even if there’s a reject button, still freaking annoying when you start reading and after two seconds you get interrupted by the prompt.
It used to be just the newsletter prompt, the notifications prompt, etc. Don’t need an additional thing by law. 😑 Let’s hope it goes away soon with the current developments.
LinkedIn is pretty good, for finding work. I’ve gotten a lot of offers there. Ultimately never took any of them, ironically, but worth the time to set up a good profile.
If you’re thinking of joining Facebook… Don’t. It’s not worth it. Tell people you have something else and give them that info. Like your phone number or your email or your WhatsApp/telegram/whatever.
I hate how I have Facebook and am so dependent on it. I wish I could tell people I don’t have it.
I mean, I’m the same. They have a whole? I’ll throw them away. But I don’t immediately consider people who wear socks with holes in them not to have their lives in order provided with only that info about them.
I think it is unusual. As a software engineer who has a large circle of friends, loads of them know I use Linux, but literally no one cares or is curious about knowing more. And honestly I’m not interested in explaining. We talk about and do other things lol. I sometimes talk about differences and news about both with those who have jobs or interests closer to the IT business, and we have a short conversation about those news, but nobody asks me about Linux, and especially not Windows. It’s not interesting.
