Here on lemmy sure and that’s what’s killing it. Someone just shared a Reddit post recently about outfitting their home with Ethernet and there were 140 helpful comments. That type of contribution is what makes it good.

Banned from your instance. What user are you looking at? If they’re banned on their home instance it federates everywhere as far as I know.

Some apps are a community effort with multiple contributors. Voyager is one of those. This may have been better asked in no stupid questions. Why would you not want the latest bug fixes and features immediately after they’ve been approved?

You can pretty much do anything that you can dream up. The coolest thing I’ve seen was chatbit but looks like it’s servers are down. It was a chat program built inside iOS shortcuts.

Good mods/admins send a message along with their banning/removals. If you add /u/GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip to the end of any Lemmy domain you can see your profile on that instance. Scroll down, tap modlog and search for your name if you want a timeframe/reason.

There’s no shadow bans. It’s possible that you’re interacting with an instance that has defederated from your home instance or vice versa. You won’t be told this. Everything just appears empty. Same if you’re banned from a community/instance. You won’t be told this unless the moderators message you.

What’s the instance and community you’re having problems with and I’ll tell you what’s going on. You would know you were banned by viewing your profile on that instance. You can find reasons in the modlog too if they added any.

Yeah, there’s been a few times I needed lower quality versions for say screens in a vehicle and to cram as many as possible on an SD card. That’s been my only use of it. Otherwise I keep an any profile with the cut off being the best 4k version.
