Some people cook good food, some don’t. I’ve made homemade stuffing dozens of times. A couple of times it was too dry, or too wet and was gummy, or over seasoned. I learned from those and definitely prefer the stuffing I make to any mix.
Yep, this magnified lion population issues since poachers would kill the lion and then a new one would step in, killing all the cubs, but then he’d also get poached and the process would repeat before cubs could grow.
So what is the normal natural balance to males killing their offspring? Obviously more pregnant lions is good genetic trait to have, but dead babies does not reenter gene pool. Super aggressive moms to defend against dad?
It took me a few minutes to figure out what your Picassoesque reindeer was. I thought it was some kind of deformed moose.
I don’t mean to be negative though … the content and writing is great … it’s just the image of the reindeer was distracting for a minute before I could look through the rest of the comic.
That has me wondering - Do at least Starfleet ships have air fresheners just for the sake of the crew not becoming nose blind? After a while you’d pretty much only smell the food.
Actually Captain, I believe the setup is supposed to be, “how do you clean a tuba?” If you would like some help with your comedy, I have a Joe Piscopo holodeck program that I have found quite useful.
Hello fellow kbin enjoyer! In case you were unaware, in-line kbin images only show in kbin for some reason. Kinda like how we get links in place of in-line Lemmy images, except Lemmy users don't even see the links (at least not in the default mobile web UI or Voyager app). To get around it, I will either copy and paste the image URL in a comment edit, or just make the reply from a Lemmy account.
Now I'm wondering if the desktop interfaces work differently.
e: in case anyone is curious about the differences:
I'm with you. I don't like the default Lemmy UI at all, but it's the most feature-complete as far as I can tell. I was a longtime Apollo user, so while Voyager feels similar at first glance it's mostly skin-deep. Kbin really does a great job with the look and feel, but there are a lot of frustrating bugs. I believe the dev has Been Going Through Some Shit (per his posts in kbinMeta) and I do not begrudge him taking care of personal life before a side project that blew up over the summer. So the result is that I mostly browse with kbin and switch to Lemmy if I need to do more than a text reply.
I like when they’re like “water, cold” and it just makes a cylinder of water that splashes onto the bottom of the replicator because they forgot to specify that the water should be in a cup. Imagine programming them on purpose this way just to fuck with all the foreign dignitaries.
It was funny when that happened in an episode of VOY when Janeway ordered a coffee, and then the mug materialized a few seconds later because the replicators were malfunctioning.
In the early 2000s Channel 4 in the UK user to run sci-fi post 23:00 most nights; mostly Stargate SG1, a little Seven Days, Sliders IIRC, that sort of thing. I was 14 and enjoying staying up late, but god damn; when Lexx came on it was time to go to sleep. What a horrible mess of a show.
Maybe because it’s a German show? It’s not true that Germans don’t have a sense of humor, it’s just that it’s a little different. If you can get into it, it’s a lot of fun.
I love it, but it was pretty messy a lot of the time in various different ways. My impressions were:
Season 1: Brilliant, really good science fiction
Season 2: Fun episodic comedy sci fi
Season 3: Sometimes weird, sometimes gruesomely tedious
Season 4: Trying to be more like a normal comedy TV show, results mixed
The whole universe is getting destroyed, everything is disappearing, and they have time for a musical number!
In my opinion, honestly one of the best episodes of anything ever made. And you can even watch it on youtube right now, because apparently, someone uploaded the whole episode.
See, for me Lexx’s end credits always left a sort of melancholy feeling, because it meant the day was over, and there was nothing left to watch, so I might as well have gone to bed.
