At my last job I was bored so I wrote sql server functions to perform standard math operations on varchar(max) and used them to build factorial tables which I then used to iteratively calculate pi. I think I got up to around 100 digits before I got yelled at for bogging down the server and had to stop.

Fuck it’s hard to keep up with modern medicine. Here I am like a fool still drinking bleach.

hitmyspot,

Why are you still drinking it?.did you not shine a light up your bum? It should be one and done treatment, not ongoing. Do you even do your own research?

Imgonnatrythis,

My research confirms my hypothesis 100% of the time (if your doesn’t, you aint researching hard enough) and if 5g is still out there you should still drink the bleach.

Killing one or two people would have a substantially bigger impact if you get the right one or two people. So if you’re gonna, choose wisely

For some reason I always read hemoglobin as hemo-goblin. I watched Lord of the Rings too much.

NakariLexfortaine,

There’s also Hemo-Goblin, the vampire who was created by a white supremacist group for ethnic cleansing in South Africa from The New Guardians.

There’s a reason the best remembered part of that series is Snowflame. He just did copius amounts of cocaine. Hemo-Goblin gave two characters AIDs.

I_am_10_squirrels,

I would watch a spinoff about Homo-goblin

Actually I was listening to a podcast that explains this. They didn’t have levers yet. They did have other devices but no lever.

nohaybanda,

I think the lever here is a stand-in for mechanical advantage. I don’t believe anyone is seriously proposing they lifted the blocks with a very long stick.

GreenTeaRedFlag,

you can’t just not have levers.

intensely_human,

It was before levers

jol,

Lol of course you can. They were invented at one point. And before that point… You didn’t have them. I recommend: Let’s Learn Everything episode 49: Goosebumps, (Not) Alien Pyramids, and Nessie & Cryptids.

A psych PhD I know once said of their fellow grad students: “most of them could have saved a lot of time and money if they’d just gone to therapy instead.”

peopleproblems,

You know what? I’ve been in therapy for 20+ years of varying degree, and if I estimate out of pocket cost at $50/2 weeks that’s about $26,000. 1 hour a session is 520 hours.

A Ph.D. would cost significantly more time than that and the program cost itself is hard to determine.

In a nut shell - yep.
