LostCause, in What is your dark figure/shadow person story?

Not sure if that is what you mean here, but when I was in University I started taking speed to try and keep up with studying despite my ADHD/depression.

And not just a bit either, but quite a lot and I must have overdone it and stayed up too many nights in a row once. I remember trying to go through my day, while I constantly spotted what could only be described as "shadow people", whenever I tried to directly look at them they would be gone, but then I‘d see it again just near the edges of my field of view. It was one very creepy day and what led to me finally admitting I can‘t do it anymore.

So I ended up dropping out, found a job in IT and got therapy and some more reasonable ADHD meds too. Still, I imagine that is what being schizophrenic might be like and I did not enjoy that at all.

gamer99, in What movie did you rewatch most often?

I’m not sure why but I will find myself rewatching Catch me if you can every couple of years on a whim. Something about it compels me

CaJoasca_Baloon, in In which game did you spend the most hours?
@CaJoasca_Baloon@lemm.ee avatar

Akasazh,
@Akasazh@feddit.nl avatar

I’m at 5000. Don’t play much nowadays, but used to play competitive and go to lans.

Blaze, in Anyone else missing posts in smaller Lemmy communities because they are overshadowed by the popular ones?
@Blaze@iusearchlinux.fyi avatar

I use different accounts for different purposes. One for generic tech news, another one for niche hobbies

pewgar_seemsimandroid,

i have accounts for languages one for English (lemmy.blahaj.zone) and one for estonian (lemm.ee)

Interesting_Test_814,

This guy took the lemm.ee TLD literally

pewgar_seemsimandroid,

well i don’t remember purchasing lemm.ee

Interesting_Test_814,

I mean the .ee, technically it’s for Estonia but i don’t think it’s supposed to be an estonian instance (or maybe I’m getting woooshed by your comment, in which case never mind)

pewgar_seemsimandroid,

there is an estonian community there but the instance is not for estonian

sadbehr, in What is the most unhelpful advice you have received?

When talking to someone about mental illness: “You know it’s all in your head right?”

Bird,
@Bird@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t … how do you even reply to that? Wow thanks, I’m cured?

sadbehr,
@sadbehr@lemmy.nz avatar

I said “you’re absolutely right” and left it at that. They were trying to get to the idea that mental illness is made up and shit like that. I don’t feed into that sort of stuff so the conversation didn’t carry on after that lol.

Valmond,

If you stop and listen to idiots, you won’t go far.

zos_kia,

“Damn, I thought mental illness was in the knees”

Cafekkos, in How to make subscribed feed more diversed?

I’m in the same boat, I guess it’s caused by the sorting algorithm and I don’t think a solution exists right now.

z3n0x,
@z3n0x@feddit.de avatar

not optimal, but I still prefer this to the Silicon Valley Adslinger Algo™ tbh

pickle_party247, in In which game did you spend the most hours?

War Thunder. Well over 2000 hours across two platforms. I regret every minute and every penny spent.

tmpod, in What movie did you rewatch most often?
@tmpod@lemmy.pt avatar

Possibly the first Pirates of the Caribbean. Dunno exactly how many times I’ve watched, but it’s close to 10. It’s such an iconic movie, with excellent scenarios, acting, and so revolutionary at the time.
I’ve watched some older Pixar movies (from their golden age imo) a bunch of times, like Monsters Inc and Nemo, as well as the masterpiece Shrek 2 from DreamWorks.

Mojave, in Those who tried Linux and went back to Windows, what caused you to go back to Windows?

Huh, who pinned this retarded comment

JoeKrogan, in What movie did you rewatch most often?
@JoeKrogan@lemmy.world avatar

Home alone and or die hard, We watch them every Christmas.

Starb3an, in What's with the corporate obsession with customer feedback?

At the company I work for we actually make and sell products on Amazon. We ask for reviews for 2 reasons: 1. Star rating = sales. Pretty simple. 2. We compile customer complaints and try to resolve them. Our sales team goes through all of the negative reviews and tells the production team, fix this, and we actually fix it (if possible).

Our company is only about 100-120 people. The CEO/owner actually does work and is involved instead of just watching and looking at numbers so it’s definitely not your typical corporation.

pickle_party247, in do you guys shop on places like aliexpress/Temu and if you do what items have pleasantly surprised you?

I got a really good Glock 18 style electric water pistol off Aliexpress for this summer, at half the price they were being hawked for on Amazon. It even comes with a drum magazine- it was great for a music festival I went to recently!

BrownianMotion, in Be honest, do you still use reddit?
@BrownianMotion@lemmy.world avatar

I do, but only to support FOSS users in some communities that are not here [yet]. There is no opnsense community here in Lemmy, so when I see questions there in reddit, I help where I can.

However, my “bio” or whatever it is called in reddit, clearly states that I have moved to Lemmy permanently.

I am actually considering creating a opnsense community here and hoping that Franco will come and join, and take over ownership.

RandomlyRight, in What movie did you rewatch most often?

The Dark Knight

tissek, in How do you cheer yourself up after a rough day? Or a rough year?
@tissek@ttrpg.network avatar

You know that meme with a guy celebrating what looks like a win but isn’t. That’s what I do. Because I must find myself awesome.

I ROCK!
