Hottest is about 115F (45C) and coldest is -2 or 3F (-20C). Both were in Dallas, Texas.

If you want to go full bore, nothing beats 100% DEET. It is like gasoline, but I have yet to find a more effective personal repellent.

Coldest: -10F - Camping trip to the lava beds in Oregon when I was a Boy Scout.

Hottest: 112F - Just going out to get the mail. Yesterday.

Hottest was easily over 50°C. I live in a hot and humid place, so it is even hotter than your typical 50°C. And it’s hell. Really good if you’re on the beach (assuming you manage to avoid insolation), but being home and having to work is the absolute worst I don’t wish to anyone.

Coldest was maybe 15-18°C? I was travelling to a not so cold neighboring state and it was quite good, actually. I prefer the weather like this.

I’m on lemmy.sdf.org because it’s widely federated and run by a trustworthy organization.

I’m not much of a tech bro - in fact I struggle with troubleshooting basic Linux issues. That’s why I mostly interact outside of my local instance.

I hardly engage with the techy discussion on SDF, but I appreciate the high quality user base.

I’m also on SDF. They’ve been in the business of offering free computing resources to the public since the 80s. So I feel confident that they won’t close up shop due to lack of expertise or resources.

Check your gutters to make sure they’re clear and there’s no standing water in them. It’s easy to miss it up there.

Hottest was somewhere between 115F and 120F (46.2C and 48.9C)

Coldest was -30F with a windchill of -55F (-34.4C with windchill of -48.3C)

Hottest was 115 F (46C) in Phoenix, Arizona. Coolest was -55 F (-48C) in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. I think the wind chill was around -85 F.
