Obviously you do you, but man I make a mean smash burger at home with deli-style American and an exceptionally simple seasoning of 4 parts salt, 1 part pepper.
Don’t get me wrong, bleu cheese on a burger is a solid choice. But I don’t really like cheddar on burgers nearly as much. Doesn’t melt the right way.
Good to know. We don't have deli-style American in my country as far as I know, so I don't know what that tastes like. It's all just individually wrapped slices, Laughing Cow etc, mostly for kids lunches.
I kind of know what you mean about the melt quality though. I'm a kiwi so I always have a ton of cheddar available, but for a really good burger it's nice to have something softer like brie or blue.
I’ve just switch to lemmy after JoeyForReddit stopped working this afternoon. Lemmy doesn’t have the same amount of content as Reddit but there is potential.
I was following it for the drama involving the blackouts. I logged in today and started browsing around, and can’t help but wonder if it’s recently become even more polarized and radicalized with regards to absurd, hateful opinions, or if my bias’ against it are making it look that way.
Either way, the experience made me feel gross, and it occurred to me that I just don’t want to be there anymore.
Honestly, same. I didn’t fully comprehend exactly how bad it had gotten since it was kind of the boiling frog scenario. When you’ve been on Reddit over a decade you know the userbase is considerably worse than it used to be, way more polarized, and unfortunately way more representative of the general population.
Getting to Lemmy immediately reminded me of how the internet used to be to some degree, and when I read the engagement I don’t feel like I immediately need a shower or a lobotomy afterwards. Let’s hope it stays that way as long as possible.
Client of mine took me to a place north of the airport that had pizza and wings and it was really good. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t had Detroit style before. I think it was Buddys, but can’t be sure.
World Of Warcraft. I stopped looking at /played once I passed 5000 hours and that was during WoTLK, I’m gonna take a guess and say i would have ended up between 12-13k hours. Just stopped playing one day about 4 years ago and have had no interest in logging back in for some reason… just weird I’d had enough.
I love Via 313, but it's gone downhill in recent years, unfortunately. The wait times are ridiculously long, the prices have skyrocketed, and the quality has lowered. Honestly, I could deal with the lower quality if either the price or the wait time went down. It's bad enough paying $15 for a small pan pizza, but it's even worse when it takes 90 minutes to get to you, after you've already been in line for 20 minutes.
Though, that's true for pretty much all the pizza places around here. They've all just gotten progressively worse, and it's really sad. :(
About once or twice a week max. And only because infinity for reddit still works. Nothing much there really. Lemmy actually has been more fun. Just the apps are still a hit or miss
I’m very good at finding four-leaf clovers. Its a skill i developed in little league baseball when the coach would always put me in right field, which the kids never hit to because it was little league. So i just stared at the ground and looked for 4-leaf clovers. I kept finding them all throughout my childhood, and my parents alwats told me i’d diluted the luck from one of those things so much that they each only gave me enough luck to find the next 4-leaf clover.
Not one little bit. I used to be a big fan of reddit, spent 12 years there but as soon as Sync stopped working I deleted my account and never went back.
