Cyder, in Rule

Communities usually named 195 or 196 have a rule that if you go there you have to post something. So people will post something and title it “Rule.” And it leads to a bunch of low effort crap posts.

Just block any 195 and 196 communites to save your feed from getting overwhelmed with bad posts.

Ziggurat,

Even though, I am no fun of low effort content, there is so few active community that it’s a bit refreshing to see content, even low effort, also they spread to much over Lemmy, that looks like it’ll contaminate lemmy’s culture which is great to become something else than redditfugees

Coeus,

If you think there are few active communities on Lemmy, you may be looking in the wrong place.

Today, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

Hottest is about 115F (45C) and coldest is -2 or 3F (-20C). Both were in Dallas, Texas.

RomanRoy, in How often do you brush your teeth?
@RomanRoy@lemmy.world avatar

2-3 times a day, depends

If I’m at work, I also brush after lunch

If I’m home, I just casually skip it because yeah fuck it

jeena, in Are you replacing Reddit with Lenny?
@jeena@jemmy.jeena.net avatar

Who is Lenny?

Hikermick, in I'm being harassed by mosquitoes, how do i kill them all?

Did you check your gutters?

impulse, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

Coldest was probably -20 °C, hottest around 40 °C.

My comfort temperature is right around 15 °C. Anything higher than 20 °C and I start sweating.

My girlfriend wants to go to Egypt for vacation this year. That’s going to be fun…

mizu6079,
@mizu6079@lemmy.world avatar

I start shivering below 22°C lol

Kolanaki, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

Coldest: -10F - Camping trip to the lava beds in Oregon when I was a Boy Scout.

Hottest: 112F - Just going out to get the mail. Yesterday.

Hottest was easily over 50°C. I live in a hot and humid place, so it is even hotter than your typical 50°C. And it’s hell. Really good if you’re on the beach (assuming you manage to avoid insolation), but being home and having to work is the absolute worst I don’t wish to anyone.

Coldest was maybe 15-18°C? I was travelling to a not so cold neighboring state and it was quite good, actually. I prefer the weather like this.

Imgonnatrythis, in I'm being harassed by mosquitoes, how do i kill them all?

Anything short of premetherin yard fogging once a month is dicking around.

NoMoreCocaine, in Why is youtube recommending conservative "talking points" to me?

Not to be that guy, but you can say “don’t recommend this channel again” to YouTube. I haven’t seen Quartering, Asmogold, etc for years now. Unless you search for them.

stappern,

i keep clicking it and i keep getting served right wing propaganda, which i never watch not even on regular youtrube so IDK wtf is up with youtube.

Tartas1995,

I had the issue that I got Andrew Tate shit recommended. I said don’t recommend that, and block the uploader. Youtube still suggested me that video. Exactly that video.

stappern,

this. i made a point to click that for every slightly right wing stuff, i still get it.

LachlanUnchained, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

Loved for a little in Lapland, Finland. What’s that. Like -20c in winter?

Hottest would be where I line now, Australia. Mid 40’s C is common where I am.

mrcranky, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

-45°C in central Alberta in the 90’s, +45° C in California in the 80’s.

SilentStorms,
@SilentStorms@lemmy.fmhy.ml avatar

Mine’s about the same range, but both in Alberta

yads,

I don’t think there’s anywhere in Alberta that gets above 40

SilentStorms,
@SilentStorms@lemmy.fmhy.ml avatar

Not regularly, but if I remember correctly it was a record-breaking 43 about 10 or so years ago

Laticauda,

I’ve seen Alberta get above 40C in rare cases.

GrandFunkMonorail, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

Hottest was 115 F (46C) in Phoenix, Arizona. Coolest was -55 F (-48C) in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. I think the wind chill was around -85 F.

Code_Weasel, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

The repetitiveness would have me get bored instantly… Have you tried bouldering? Every route is different, you have to figure out how to move, which muscles to activate etc…, so you stick to the boulder (wall) and dont fall off. It is so much more rewarding because you not only do a physical activity but also analyse and solve a problem. Might not feel like this for the very beginner problems but definitely later one, once your technique backpack gets a bit bigger. Can highly recommend.

CarlCook, (edited ) in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

I make workout my me time: my music, my time, my body.

Viewing working out as something that is good for me instead of a chore also does help. Concentrating on my body, really feeling the muscles contract is kind of a meditation to me.

electrogamerman,

Same as with cleaning the home for me. Alone it is tedious AF, but with some music, etc it becomes more enjoyable and the results are enjoyable too.
