You can view what Google “knows” about you on your account settings. I made my account when I was very young, I lied about my age and my gender, then it made assumptions based on my interests of my professional situation. I guess many people in my gender and age group, sharing my actual interests (tech, movies, culture, food) are also interested in the kind of content you described (Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, Yiannopolous, etc). I keep clicking “not interested”, but the algorithm keep suggesting these videos to me. I don’t mind that Google doesn’t know my politics. I’m a feminist, but there’s really not a lot of interesting discourse about feminism on Youtube, so I just read and attend real life lectures instead.

The body odor of a friend who got out of bed when I was crashing at his house. I wanted to throw up on the spot, it was awful. I’m not sure what it was, but it smelled like he hadn’t showered in months but he didn’t smell like that the previous day.

There’s a reason why I have a waterproof bed protector. Wash the sheets ever week or two weeks, wash the bed protector every couple. Your bed won’t smell musty or get bad dust mites that way.

I know I’m doing good WHEN I get served this kind of content. I don’t browse YT logged in, my browser always deletes cookies upon closure, and I run Ghostery/add block plugins.
Living in Texas, I kinda assume that is why I constantly get this right wing content (ads, vid recommendations). I figure my location is all they know about me and so that is why I get served this content.
It just tells me they don’t know anything about me so my countermeasures are working 🤞🏼

The open source researchers that took the meta weights and ran with them, and then superseded them, was how I read it. It was the overall innovations that made patching as effective if not more than recompiling from scratch.
I am curious how long this memo lasts as a real leak. Like I haven’t tried digging below the surface of information as presented, but most of this is indistinguishable from magic in actual practice. Like even open source, does not mean I have a chance in hell of compiling on my own, and modifying is completely absurd at this point. I wouldn’t mind learning, but I know I’m out of my depth on that one. Could this leak be a false flag or public passivation for political reasons? Making the publicly available options sound advanced and capable takes a lot of pressure off of proprietary efforts right as they are hitting a larger public focus.

I don’t know what part of the internet you are from, but where I am from, Stackoverflow is looked down on as the quintessential example of toxic behaviour.
I’ve found some of the most dismissive people in tiny stack exchange groups, and experienced similar unexplained downvotes.
What SO, Reddit, and Lemmy maybe all have in common I think, is people tend to agree or disagree based on their convictions, as opposed to agreeing or disagreeing as a means of interaction.
I guess this puts the conflict and disagreement front and center. But at least then I know where people stand.
Perhaps it’s important to not take opinions too personally, and remember that incencere agreement has its own problems.
You can get rid of a lot of the bullshit YouTube loves to shove down your throat by telling it not to recommend the channel. I haven’t got any of that garbage in years
