I have it! I go between that and jerboa. I appreciate the ui a lot. Sometimes I have trouble reading the comments sections, but I'm getting used to it. I've emailed the dev actually and he responded quickly and reached out after an update to see if my bugs were fixed.
If you don't wanna partake in illegals ie opioids, you can give immodium a shot. It's anti diarrhea stuff. Just take more than it says lol it will def stop you up. I would also just eat bare minimum. Trail mix or smth. Also drink less water.
I used to take immodium for multi-day concerts where I expected to be drinking a lot of beer. Last time I did so, it worked so well that I didn't shit for two weeks and stopped being able to sleep. Had to get to the doctor for a powerful laxative cocktail that really messed up my guts for another two weeks during which I still could barely sleep for different reasons. I'm not getting that month back.
Don't use wifi for any cameras that are used for security purposes, as an attacker can just use a wifi jammer to block it from the network. Get a good PoE camera instead.
I usually recommend the Dahua T5442T-ZE (https://a.co/d/gj2WclN) as a good outdoor camera with very good night time performance. There's several in-depth reviews on IPCamTalk (I'd recommend reading their quick start wiki too).
You can save money with Reolink, but their cameras are lower quality and horrible at night. Dahua and Hikvision are the #1 and #2 camera manufacturers in the world.
Regardless of which brand you get, ensure you put the cameras on a separate VLAN with no internet access. This is for security reasons.
You'll also need a NVR to record footage - either a hardware NVR from the same manufacturer, or software like Blue Iris or Frigate.
Thank you for this that camera isn’t to expensive. Will go through that site and read the reviews. I need to be able to access this camera remotly though. I live two hours away from some land I own. I have internet out there but the camera I have now (WYZE) won’t stay connected. How can do that without Wifi or secure data of some kind?
Seems silly now that I think about it but I guess I get most excited about buying sweets and snacks... Just can't beat the taste of some nice chocolate.
Right now I'm trialing Jerboa, Connect, Lemmy, and Liftoff. Jerboa is frozen for me until lemmy.world updates to 18.1 but I really like it. I like Liftoff and Connect, too, so I'll keep trying them as they continue to develop and decide down the line which I like best.
Coding isn't for everyone, but sometimes you can get involved in a coding project just by contributing good suggestions/bug reports to github.
Be thoughtful about how you report things - if you're reporting a bug, add as much detail as you can to help the devs recreate it; if you're suggesting a feature, make a solid case for why the application might benefit from it, think about potential issues it might solve (or cause), consider how you might address users who don't want that feature (make optional).
It is extremely satisfying to see an issue you've reported get fixed or a feature you've suggested get implemented. It gives you a stake in the project, something you won't often get on the corporate-owned platforms.
What if I aim low? Like, "please include the letter c in your next commit"? Will that hit hard enough? Or should I go for a whole word? Come on, I need this!
I'm a 28 yo trans woman and switched careers from arts admin to data science in healthcare. I'm learning UE5 in the hopes of realizing a game idea (city-builder/resource manager on a floating Rubik's cube).
Special interests change regularly and include: electrical engineering, software development, anything space / cosmology / physics, sewing, piano, etc... It's a problem.
I adopted to cats Shadow Lady and Stinky Jane last year and they are everything to me.
Anti-hobbies include eating, partying, public speaking, and dancing.
Show me 100 users, and I will show you 100 interpretations of the "perfect" website.
There are endless annoyances and inefficiencies in every user interface. They're unavoidable. And yes, Lemmy is still largely in it's infancy and has a lot of irritating bugs to work out. But you just have to learn to work around them as best you can.
Don't ask me how, I don't even know. I call it Camping Constipation Mode. I usually leave on a Thursday afternoon and get home Sunday night without feeling the urge to shit. And I eat as normally as you can when backpacking, I guess. Seems like most of the dehy food should make you thread a needle at 10 paces but doesn't seem to affect me that way.
