Quintus, in Is there an instance to request the creation of new instances?
@Quintus@lemmy.ml avatar

I would also like to create one. Though I can’t find the button to do so.

Phreak, in What's the point of buying new phones every years?

I normally upgrade every two years when my contract runs out. It’s cheaper than what I’d be for for an unlimited 5g sim only deal.

Plus this time I want away from my Fold!

This could be a Jerboa question, so see !jerboa. You might be looking for tips on mobile apps - please see our pinned post. Otherwise, I recommend checking the sidebar for suggestions on the best place to ask support questions.

croobat, in Liftoff. Lemmy app. Do you like the way it works now?
@croobat@lemmy.world avatar

I like the minimalistic approach of Lerboa, but liftoff looks really solid. Totally see why it would appeal more to general masses, it’s beautiful!

FarLine99,

Jerboa is good. But Liftoff is better feature wise 🙂

Nilz,

I started with Jerboa but didn’t really like it. Switched to Connect for Lemmy and it’s been great. I’ll give Liftoff a go.

sounddrill, in Liftoff. Lemmy app. Do you like the way it works now?

I love it. Some things are a bit akward ui wise but it’s smooth, fast and doesn’t heat up my oneplus one

FarLine99,

Yeah, it is fast!

photonic_sorcerer, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?
@photonic_sorcerer@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Do I enjoy my workout? Fuck no! I do it because I want to keep my body in shape and healthy. But I do experience some pleasure. During my warmup jog, I hate myself for putting myself through this, but later when I’m lifting weights, I feel like I’m somehow doing something good by lifting something so heavy. And afterwards, I feel very elated, free and awake. So it’s a net positive even if the process is near torture sometimes.

kalayo, in Are you replacing Reddit with Lenny?

gamer, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

Yes! I love it. It’s almost a meditative experience for me, kind of like when you’re in the shower alone with your thoughts. Also, since I’ve been regularly working out for a couple of years now, I’m at a point where if I don’t work out, then I start feeling like shit.

Is there anything the rest of us can do to cultivate such a mindset?

Idk, but I definitely did not like it at the start. I just sucked it up and pushed through, making sure I did it on a regular basis. Eventually, it stopped feeling like a chore and started feeling like a part of my routine, like brushing my teeth in the morning or showering in the evening.

RotaryKeyboard, in What can a senior desktop support tech do who is burned out?

This happened to me in my mid-thirties. I tried a couple pivots. One was to web development, which I found didn’t really help the burnout. So I pivoted again to project management. Project management doesn’t pay as well, but the hours and workload are far easier to deal with. It’s also a lot more accepting of older workers than IT is. Find yourself a project management position in IT somewhere. If you can get one in information security you could build up some time in that sector and get the CISSP, which would open a lot of doors to great paying jobs.

I tried Project Management and did not succeed at it. I am thinking of the DevOps course of action. I am still relatively young at 46. I’ll try and make the pivot.

Diglett983, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

Coldest: -20º Vilnius Hottest: 47º Sevilla

danhakimi, in What would Twitter look like with an absolute number of Likes in the system?
@danhakimi@kbin.social avatar

I imagine I'd probably just not like anything. Not worth the effort of managing.

Lakes, in What's a good way to prank your coworker?

Have any other monitors available?

If you do, literally change the monitor and hide the other one. Smaller the better.
