A very French joke: We used to use their email client and send to the whole team “Hey, I feel generous so tomorrow morning I will bring croissants for everyone. Look forward to it!”
The person would get plenty of “thank you” emails in reply and discover the trick. It was a small office so usually the person would bring the pastries. Yum!
It depends on the exercise for me. Weights/ strength training I struggle to enjoy but going for a run is my jam. It can get pretty rough on the longer runs but every time when I finish and catch my breath I generally feel a lot happier about myself and find dealing with life a lot easier.
It depends on the workout for me. When I’m in shape of course, if I’m not in shape then it’s hell.
Running 4-6km is very neutral, nothing special
Running 6-10km is kinda enjoyable
Running 10-15km feels really good for some reason
Then everything above 15km is hell (I only ever ran a half marathon at once)
I find running a bit like meditation, or I just let my mind wander wherever. I can’t really put to words the experience, but I would definitely describe it as enjoyable. Especially in winter, I absolutely love it when the cold bites my skin as I start running, and then when you warm up you don’t feel it anymore.
Edit: apologies, I misunderstood that you were pranked first. I’m not a prank fan but you obviously have cause to retaliate. I’ll leave my original comment below.
This doesn’t make sense. “It’s just a prank bro… Can’t you take a joke?”
If the person being pranked doesn’t find it ‘funny’ what is it?
I buy a new phone when my current one breaks. So like every five years.
Lots of people are bad with money or don’t prioritize the same things I do. I try not to worry about this. I worry about other unimportant shit like why do people roll for stats in DND 5e.
I’m the same, use the phone until it refuses to function any longer then jump on a Chinese site and get the cheapest pos with a decent camera and then once it arrives watch a yt video on how to change the language to English
In the early 10s Smartphones evolved quickly and it was worth it to upgrade every 2nd year or even every year.
This changed when the tech stagnated. But smartphone was much cheaper in the early days so financially it probably isnt much different if you are buying flagships later now.
I’ve actually been a big fan of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for a long time so thank you for bringing it up and indulging me in a happy nostalgia. I’ve heard it described variously over the years as possibly the first or at least early science fiction, as well as even proto-feminist in its more subtle themes. Might be a good time to return to it. There are some potentially Luddite themes as well but in an era when people were en masse encountering rapid technological advancement while philosophical approaches to that rapid advancement were still in their infancy it’s a forgivable flaw.
It varies for me. Some days I’m like “I get to work out! 😄”
And other days are closer to
“I have to work out 😣”
But I like the progress I’ve made, I’m even starting to see shadow under my ribs. I always feel better after the workout though, and it makes me feel like the relaxation time I typically do after is earned.
If ebooks are acceptable to you, then Standard Ebooks is the shit. Proper classics, formatted in a nice way, ready to drop onto whatever reading device you have.
Just start one (a community, that is). There’s not some marauding band of trolls out there, waiting to give you a hard time. If it’s niche enough, it’ll be a highlight just to see someone-who-isn’t-you post something!
I wouldn’t mind creating one, but thinking ahead there may be new users who are looking for certain communities but don’t have the experience to create or mod one themselves.
This could help get things going faster and may give ideas to the people that are happy to do so.
