ShittyKopper, in What are your favorite (Youtube) video's/documentaries of all time that you can watch again and again?

Hbomberguy’s entire channel is a goldmine. It’s hard to pick just one so instead here’s three, in decreasing order of silliness

All of them are about 2 hours long each

Aside from that, Cathode Ray Dude’s recent The Unholy Saga of Phoenix Hyperspace is quite good, though it’s a really computer nerd-y topic.

And finally, if we’re allowing conference talks, literally anything Deviant Ollam has his name attached to tends to be really good, though he does tend to repeat stuff between his talks. Here is four that’s different enough from each other:

bec, in I need to survive for 3 days without pooping, and eating as little as possible. I can pee, but not very often. It can't take up too much space. What food do I pack?
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

I’m just glad I’m here to witness this lol

Anyways, wouldn’t a liquid meal replacement do the trick? Something like Huel?

unhearing,

Doesn't huel have lots of fibers that will be excreted?

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Just checked and it says it has 7g fiber per serving. Don’t know if it’s too much, honestly. Jusy thought that since it’s liquid it would be making less waste!

Kinga,

Huel is quite infamous for having lots of fiber and causing absolute monster shits before you get used to it. Like it really makes you go every few hours on top of the shits being just extra nasty

bec, (edited )
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Didn’t know lol as I said I assumed that a liquid diet would help, guess I was very wrong lol

edit: maybe there are other similar meal replacements that have not as much fiber? If that’s the only downside. I suggested Huel because I don’t know of any other

Truth is, I challenged OP to this poopless challenge and I was trying to undermine their effort, but don’t snitch on me

DovahFiST, in It would be cool to have Lemmy pen pals. Asklemmy, what are your hobbies and what's your life like?

This seems fun! Here's me:

I'm 27, I'm a giant woodworking nerd who also loves video games and hobby electrical engineering. I was lucky enough to turn my passion into a career, where I have a unique job - I program and operate our rather old large format 5'*10' CNC router, and also do all the hand-cut joinery for the pieces that get ordered that require it. I can talk about CNC routing and woodworking in general for ages. I also love the concept of creating my own electronic and have dabbled a bit with raspberry Pi's, arduinos, ESP32's and various sensor gizmos and gadgets. I'd love to use my CNC and hobby electrical knowledge to create my own "cyberdeck" one of these days, and have a large horde of parts for a custom arcade cabinet I've been planning to build. Don't wanna write too much so I'll stop here - if you've got similar interests I think it could be fun to chat!

dango, in Does anyone else hope the bulk of Reddit stays there?
@dango@fedia.io avatar

no way. this kind of elitism and gatekeeping kills communities

MacroCyclo,

Yeah, I really hope we can get past the culture of thinking lemmy is morally superior to reddit and just focus on having something nice here that no CEO can fuck with.

Nivekk, in Does anyone else hope the bulk of Reddit stays there?
@Nivekk@kbin.social avatar

I think there's a loud, negative minority that WILL stay there, and it's going to become even more of the type of place that they like.

Venutianxspring,

That's what I'm hoping. Let them stay there then it into an echo chamber so they never leave

th4, in What would be the best way to protect a room from unwated visitors in a low-tech fantasy world?

The room is built on the inside of a giant snail's shell, if you give it a special kind of lettuce the snail will retreat and clear access to the room.

TiffyBelle, in What do you think of people making memes/jokes about the recent Titan tragedy?

LevelUp, in I need to survive for 3 days without pooping, and eating as little as possible. I can pee, but not very often. It can't take up too much space. What food do I pack?
@LevelUp@dataterm.digital avatar

Eat a diet with hardly any fibre before you go. The last time I was bunged up for 4 days I had eaten a lot of meat and not enough veggies in comparison. It'll either help, or you'll just have a very big poop idk.

I would recommend lessening your fibre as a minimum if you must though!

kabukimeow, in What do you think of people making memes/jokes about the recent Titan tragedy?
@kabukimeow@lemmy.world avatar

It's not something I would ever do. I guess I'm superstitious but taking death lightly makes me feel like I'd have to pay for that later...

GunnarRunnar, in Does anyone else hope the bulk of Reddit stays there?

So call me what you will but I just want a new "Reddit". I want a place where I can come up with a niche and find a place where people are talking about it. Whether it's experts or enthusiasts but I want to shared experience of "talking about X".

AlteredStateBlob,
@AlteredStateBlob@kbin.social avatar

Exactly, well put. This is what reddit used to be, I hope this place can and will grow into just that in time. I see the potential. Everything starts with very little.

Chainweasel, in Is water denser at the bottom of the ocean?

Yes. Some things I haven't seen mentioned yet:

Although water can't be compressed there's a few other factors.

  1. Density changes with temperature, and it's a lot colder at the bottom then the top.
  2. There are air bubbles in the water, all of it. Although atmospheric air mixing by waves is unlikely to make it all the way to the bottom, biology produces gases via several different methods and gas can be compressed, which reduces the space between water molecules and increases the density.
