I’d say it’s a 6. Nice and straight with very little taper. Those little branch nubbins would make it suck to hold at the end, and the bark needs to be stripped off across the entire thing. I’d take a belt sander to it and clean it up some
Point is to inhale slightly less each time, hold as long as you can, then slowly breathe out. Works wonders for helping me fall asleep or just generally relaxed when I’m anxious or not sleepy.
Cognitive dissonance. Lots of people never learn and are never taught how to separate their ego from their knowledge. It doesn’t help that education still relies on punishing mistakes and failure.
Well, you got what you asked for. As one is not allowed to ask real questions here, you get the "thought provoking questions" you wanted. No sympathy or pity from my side for wasting a good community name for a socio-psychological experiment.
Look at the charter. This group is not for asking real questions, as in "Does anyone know..." or "How do I...", but for "though provoking" discussion starters. A bit like r/showerthoughts on reddit was. For that, a name like "asklemmy" is wasted.
When I’m on the go, I like to just chill with games like Fire Emblem Heroes on my phone (the parts that don’t require you to potentially pair up and play against sweats with no life who can make a lvl.1 3 star character nuke your lvl.40+10 5 star unit). Or if I’m not on a bus and am just in a car, I might just pull out my switch if I have it on me and do some raids in Pokemon Violet (offline since I don’t have the online pass).
If I’m at home on my desktop, I like to chill from time to time building rollercoasters (Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum) of either doom (mostly those) or ones could feasibly be made in the real world without healthy people dying while riding it. That, or do some casual peglin runs.
When trying to persuade someone of something, you need to talk to the elephant, not the rider (emotion, not logic). That’s why propaganda works so well and facts don’t.
4-5 / 0-1 / 4-5 / 0-1, repeated for at least 1 minute, better 5 minutes or more. (not too deep or light-headedness can happen)
This is resonance frequency breathing (at round about 0,1 Hz) which maximizes heart rate variability and activates the baroreflex (blood pressure). It’s usually used with a HRV biofeedback device to find the best individual breathing frequency, but it’s not strictly necessary. Just find the speed around these marks that feels good (without feeling like you’re out of breath or getting dizzy). Breath into your belly.
There’s tons of studies for its effects, but mostly it activates your vagal control, and thus tones down anxiety, can help with depression and PTSD symptoms when done regularly, and also helps with high blood pressure, can make recovery after heart surgery easier, is used in professional sports, may help with IBS etc. Look for papers on “HRV biofeedback effects”, if you’re interested.
The most immediate effect I personally have is feeling both more relaxed and more alert, similar to after meditation.
I know for some people it’s super relaxing. I tried playing the free tetris on the official website recently, was into it until it started getting fast. I am not much of a quick reflex gamer
It helps me focus my mind into one thing. With just some minutes, all the noise on my head goes away, and even when I lose, the frustration does not build up, all there is on my mind is the current game.
The only con is that if I play to much I start seeing blocks falling when I try to fall sleep.
It might not be for you, but it got me at a young age and you do get used to it. There really is a “flow state” to Tetris, where it can feel like you’re just noticing the pieces and they’re almost moving on their own.
Naah, it wasn’t that bad. I like to imagine every alien army has a boss that hands out insta-wins when they die. Like Independence Day. Or Independence Day 2.
