Shard, in "Feature Prioritisation" by Work Chronicles

Where did you find this photo of YouTube execs?

massive_bereavement, in I mean, it stands to reason!
@massive_bereavement@kbin.social avatar

Sky friend magazine sounds like a poor translation of an inflight magazine. Then again, it might be.

Spike, in "Feature Prioritisation" by Work Chronicles

uhmm… users are stakeholders

Matumb0,

And that is, why it is important to know the difference of stake- and shareholders. But it is a great mistake to learn from.

Kichae,

If only decision makers would ever recognize the mistake in the first place.

killeronthecorner,
@killeronthecorner@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah but they never come to sprint planning so 🤷

dustyData,

You don’t designate a user advocate or at least have a representative of Trust & Safety to advice on development?

killeronthecorner,
@killeronthecorner@lemmy.world avatar

It was a joke, dear.

dustyData,

Oh, my comment was a joke too, darling. We know that no one on project management cares enough to actually have proper user advocates on the dev team.

killeronthecorner,
@killeronthecorner@lemmy.world avatar

I’d prefer a well equipped UX research team tbh. “Advocate” is one of those job titles that screams “my role is poorly defined”

dustyData,

UX and UI aren’t magic bullets. They constantly come up with and approve the most anti-user crap. They are just as disconnected from the actual user base as a database engineer.

killeronthecorner,
@killeronthecorner@lemmy.world avatar

UX and UI design is not the same as a UX research team. Different disciplines entirely.

funkless_eck,

not necessarily. Your “stakeholders” on the deal/contract that interface with product and success managers could all be VPs who never use the product.

andthenthreemore,

No. A stakeholder is anyone with an interest in the project. Where you consider the importance of a particular stakeholder vs another is a different question.

funkless_eck,

That doesn’t sound like a very helpful or useful definition in day to day operations.

andthenthreemore,

Meh. It is what it is though. That’s why you have stakeholder analysis.

moistclump,

I think they meant shareholders

Turun, in China shop 2024

In German it’s the elephant who can’t peacefully exist in a china shop lol

(Ein Elefant im Porzellanladen)

Gradually_Adjusting,
@Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world avatar

More apropos in America, eh?

Turun,

From an outside perspective Trump was a shit show.

I don’t really care about your internal politics, but what I can say is that he had a massive impact on America’s credibility in the world. If you can just leave and rejoin the Paris climate agreement or unilaterally end the Iran nuclear oversight program, why should anyone really trust you on anything?

Joe Biden did a lot to repair this loss in trust, but it’s hard work and will take longer than one presidential period. Much longer than it took to damage your credibility in the world.

magnetosphere,
@magnetosphere@kbin.social avatar

I (an American) was thinking a similar thing. What’s the point of treaties and agreements if all it takes is one asshole President to say “nah, we’re not doing that”?

captainlezbian,

What’s being referenced is that the symbol of Trump’s party is an elephant. They’re the ones who basically set all this up. The other party holds to treaties they don’t like and such

Turun,

Thanks. I know that in theory, but didn’t make the connection.

Makes a lot of sense in that sketch.

AnUnusualRelic,
@AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t think anyone ever trusted the US with anything,with or without Trump. However the US are unavoidable, so we have to work with them.

Gradually_Adjusting,
@Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world avatar

You speak to one that emigrated as a result of what Trump did to America, so I have no quarrel with you about that. I am just amused by the German version with elephants in China shops since the Republican icon is an elephant.

Turun,

Ah, makes sense. I didn’t make that connection even though I am aware of the donkey and elephant symbolism.

Gradually_Adjusting,
@Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world avatar

Some find me unnecessarily oblique, don’t worry about it

The most annoying part is that the guy who doesn't believe in the spikes is the one who's closest to being able to pull himself off of it, if he were to try. His spike doesn't protrude beyond his chest as far as the others.

Also how are they speaking when their lung cavities have been completely filled with spike.

VikingHippie,

At that price, you’re gonna have to haul it yourself.

Do the legs unscrew? I have 6x4 trailer, will it fit in that? It doesn’t look that big on the television.

VikingHippie,

Do the legs unscrew?

Dunno, worth a try? 🤷

I have 6x4 trailer, will it fit in that?

Yes, it’s smaller than 6 by 4 nautical miles. Should fit comfortably within those dimensions.

It doesn’t look that big on the television.

Depends on both the size of your TV and your distance from the TV. I’ve personally found that it looks enormous when having my face pressed directly to the glass of a 36 inch tv, but that was a while ago and your mileage may vary 🤷
