It’s midnight on the edge of Clapham Common in early September. The streets are eerily quiet as a shadowy figure in black shirt, shorts and baseball cap emerges from the common. He is wearing a red face mask, his features, except for some blond locks, hidden from view.
It’s almost like car infrastructure has dogshit durability and longevity and is a massive money sink compared to more efficient transportation infrastructures!
TL;DR: Norway subsidised electric cars a lot, that money went to the rich more than the poor, and left them with less money to spend on transit which delivers better outcomes for cities.
This is in a city of 175,000 people. And in a “liberal”, West Coast, US city. You really can’t get away from this stuff in North America.
Predictably, it’s the 15-minute-city conspiracy crap.
