Can someone eli5 this premise again? It’s that we’re in the cave and our experiences are just projections? I can’t remember why that is or what the thesis was.
To oversimplify, it’s a metaphor about what it’s like to go through life relying only on your senses and not using reason to question or analyze the deeper meanings behind your surface impressions. The story goes on to discuss a prisoner who escapes the cave and gets a taste of true reality, that prisoner is meant to represent a philosopher. When the escaped prisoner returns and tells the others of what he’s seen, they reject his claims saying how absurd it would be to believe that there’s anything more than just the shadows. I think in this day and age it’s easy to guess what that interaction represents, but Plato had a particular bone to pick about this since his mentor had essentially been executed for questioning various things.
I’m sorry to burst everyone’s bubble but this doesn’t make sense. The average person is not pregnant. Therefore the average person does not have more than one skeleton in their body.
It’s the average amount, meaning that if one person out of the entire world was pregnant, the average would be technically more than one, even in the slightest degree.
I think even on balance, considering fractions of skeletons in whole people, you’re going to end up with more than one skeleton per person despite some of those people missing bones or limbs.
It’s like one sixth of a percent more than 1:1 if there are 135 million babies born each year on earth, but that’s not nothing.
Yeah that’s kinda the point I was getting at. With a baseline of 1 and the 100% probability of 1 person out of 8 billion being pregnant, it will always technically be more than 1.
Don’t get me wrong; I like the idea, but this is AI generated art trying to pass itself off as human-made.
Even if the artist used AI to assist with the work, it’s pretty sloppy. Look at the teeth, the angle of the background rockets, the weird spaceship on the lapel. At least make it look good if you’re using AI.
I used to, but I don’t often find the time these days. Trig for days. Especially given most game input is in (x,y) format from analog sticks or WASD. Gotta turn that into angles! (Not that you need much trig to turn WASD into angles.)
