Squirrel, in Wedding pricing makes so much sense.
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

People tend to demand perfection when it comes to weddings. I’m pretty sure that’s why it’s more expensive. In general, prices rise alongside expectations.

The 90s are nothing. I remember a flock of seagulls from the 80s that are still flying around.

Hupf,

They just flew (so far away).

Any bird who lives primarily in the water is dumb as shit. They have unlimited protection above and around them, so they have zero adaptive pressure to put anything into their intelligence. Land birds have a lot to worry about so their brains are approaching human levels of intellect.

I try to stay away from buying nestle stuff, but it’s nearly impossible… they have their mitts in everything, even cat food. (Purina) They have over 2000 brands ffs. www.nestle.com/brands

Hi, do you have a moment to talk about Arch Linux? I got a pamphlet and reading material for you.

Treczoks, in Wedding pricing makes so much sense.

Never, ever, book a location for a “Wedding”. Always book it for a “Family Event”.

Reminder that their CEO unapologetically said that he doesn’t think water is a human right.

@HiddenLayer5@lemmy.ml avatar

Unpopular opinion: I find simple tagging and non-obscene graffiti in general less offensive than the spam flyers and company logo/QR code stickers everyone sticks everywhere. At least where I live the latter is also way more common.

ZWho63, in Reddit is dead. Long live the Fediverse.

reddit.com/…/settings_updateschanges_to_ad_person…

Reddit just decided it was a good idea to REMOVE the option to disable ad personalisation. Good job u/spez. We know what you’re doing.

Oh, okay. I had no idea. I was like “How far do I have to scroll to find out what reddit did this time?”

Wouldn’t affect me anyway, because I use an ad blocker.

It still means they’re selling your info to advertisers

DmMacniel,

Neat, so they are monetising your activities on the plattform. Isn’t that great?

@Tak@lemmy.ml avatar

I wanted to try Boost then saw the data collection and noped out.

averyminya,

All that is removed with the pro version, but I understand the hesitation.

AdmiralShat,

That’s bog standard admob. If you have ANY app with ads on your phone you have already agreed to all of that so it’s moot.

I just paid for it the moment I bought it because I want to support Ruben. Fantastic dev overall, anytime I had an issue with the reddit version he personal would respond and either patch it himself or already have an answer

The paid version doesn’t have admob library

TotallyNotSpez, in Stupid fucking fish making me have back problems and depression

This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn’t the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy. Many were increasingly of the opinion that they’d all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that even the trees had been a bad move, and that no one should ever have left the oceans.

Correct on every damn count. Even though I have my little digital watch.

Fantastic author with a fantastic set of books. The bit about how humans can fly will always make me laugh my ass off. Apparently we possess the capability of flight but we’re doing it wrong. The trick is to throw yourself at the ground and miss.

Douglas Adams is a fucking genius.

TotallyNotSpez,

Agreed, Adams was a genius with an incredible sense of humour. When I was 12 years old I started reading the HHGTTG books and I loved them all. The Dirk Gently books were tremendous fun as well. But the real hidden gem was his book about animals going extinct (Last chance to see). A friend of mine taped a reading session of Adams at his university in Germany back in the day. He later converted it to mp3 files and many years later I still love listening to that gig every few months or so. Let me know if you’d like a copy of it.

melisdrawing,

Oh my gosh, please link me that file. Sounds amazing.
