Capitalist is a nebulous term. While I guess you could use it to describe freelance journalists pushing out low effort schlock because they get paid on quantity and rent is due, I think that’s kinda ridiculous.

I think the term “Capitalist” would apply to employees determining how to profit off changing consumer interests.

FrenLivesMatter,
@FrenLivesMatter@lemmy.today avatar

But capitalism bad!

I agree though, the more correct term to use would be boomers.

OtakuAltair,

I read it as people who support capitalism deciding who to blame

ilinamorato, in Damn Millennials

Sweating because of how often they have to hit both of them, no doubt.

The button on the left should say “adults aged 18-35 are buying less ____ because of ethical concerns/recent health findings/changing values/rising CoL/better alternatives (pick one)” and the bottom panel should say “clickbait journalists”

Maalus,

Or… just make your own meme instead? Smh

dmention7,

My bad… I guess I figured people could digest 3 lines of text without it being pasted over meme template

rigatti,

Ooh you should make a meme about that.

Felix Cartel completely ruined You Get What You Give. Let’s turn an upbeat, happy song full of energy into the most basic, boring, sleep-inducing track possible, where even the singer sounds bored and is half-singing. Plus the annoying repeated vocals typical of creatively bankrupt music.

They didn’t threaten to kick Courtney Love or Marilyn Manson’s asses in. Jokes aside, fucking awful cover.

I didn’t think there was anyone left there… They’ve all migrated to Florida until Easter.

Dunno about TikTok, but it will be done so long as it runs numbers up. Just look at Jack Harlow trying it again.

I college there was a blizzard and in the middle of it my housemates and I decided to walk down to a local bagel shop for lunch. I don’t know why we did it, because we rarely walked anywhere to eat, let alone to this place. It was fine though. It was probably safer taking that walk then when no one could drive anywhere rather than any other time. Those were some good bagels.

I’m all for covers, it’s interesting to hear someone else’s take on a particular song, but remixes where all they change is just the pitch and/or tempo are just lazy and unappealing.

Gonzako,

I personally don’t like either. It feels like I’m the uncanny valley of music and it makes me want to hear the song I heard first.

Chadus_Maximus, (edited )

What about when both are massively different?

Feint - Starscapes and Feint - Starscapes (Rameses B remix) don’t sound similar to me at all, for instance. The original is too generic and uninspired.

Snowpix,
@Snowpix@lemmy.ca avatar

Or they add a bunch of trap/dubstep nonsense and lazy stuttered and repeated vocals. It’s been done to death.

BassaForte,
@BassaForte@lemmy.world avatar

A good remix changes the song enough to sound like a different song but with inspirations from the original. A bad remix just changes the tempo and layers garbage on top. Not all remixes are bad but many of them are low effort.

Who’s going to be the next to rehash Robert Miles’ “Children”?

Worst snowstorm I had ever seen (and I lived in a place where getting over a foot of snow overnight was nothing unusual), worked in a casino, 90+ years old lady that looks like she last ate 20 years ago arrives in her car and tells us “Wow, the roads are very dangerous, if I had known I would have stayed home!” Fucking hell! I told her “You realise you could have just turned around and go back home instead of driving half an hour, right?” She just didn’t know what to answer to that…

If you don’t recognize him, you need to watch One Foot In The Grave. It’s on BritBox, maybe elsewhere as well.

funkless_eck,

I imagine more yanks will know him from the gas mask kid episode of Dr Who

Mr_Blott,

If you don’t recognise him, watch Keeping Up Appearances instead, it stood the test of time better, IMO
