A friend of mine had one as a teenager and then brought it with him to his dorm room after high school. We called it Pavlov because it had to be answered when it rang.
I hope so. I don’t know if it would work to make a smartphone in a clear plastic case like that phone, but if someone did it, people would probably just complain because it was plastic and not metal or something.
IIRC there’s a transparent version of the Fairphone 5. Not that it’s as aesthetically interesting inside as older tech, more of a statement about the device’s modular design.
I just looked it up. It’s a little too opaque for my tastes based on what I’m talking about but you’re right, it’s not as interesting inside. Maybe that’s why other companies stopped doing it. It still makes sense if you want to show off the design of the device in a specific way like you said.
I can’t remember who did it, but there’s a YouTuber who always clearifies his phones when he gets a new one by removing the back and putting a gorilla glass back on it. Haven’t seen his videos in a while, I don’t think, but he has several iirc.
About a decade ago I told my spouse I wanted to customise my PC with a perspex case and some lighting inside. He was all bleurgh, why would you want to do that?! His current PC has a glass side and rainbow lights inside.
I also stand by this claim and have since the 90s. Thank you and good day, sir.
I saw one of these at Target the other day in the $5-and-below section. Except it wasn’t a full phone, it was a nostalgia grab designed to be a wired “headset” for a cell phone with a headphone jack.
It was super high to start with. I’ve read Vetsulin only lasts 8 hours and I wanted to see how it changes throughout the day. Usually prick him before the shot to get an idea of how much to give him.
I bought one myself. He’s been on Vetsulin for 3 months and still drinking water like crazy. I’ve heard Lantus is better but I have a vial of Vetsulin to use up so I want to better monitor him.
The three diabetics I’ve cared for were all best controlled with a combination of diet and Levemir. Fancy Feast pate-style and no dry food; no need for “special” (read “way overpriced” food).
Check with Diabetic Cats in Need about the best ways to source Levemir or Lantus. I used to live in the Detroit area and just drove to Canada for it where it is over-the-counter and less expensive…
I see, it seems to be “porcine insulin zinc suspension”, which I think used to be used in humans but isn’t any longer. I thought perhaps it might be Levemir or NPH. Lantus is definitely pretty good… not just for cats, I have T1 so I’ve tried various insulins. It’s quite stable over 24 hours.
Huh. Apparently I’ve driven both a bunch of times without realizing they were the “loneliest” roads. They didn’t feel any different than normal highways around there, and there were plenty of other cars. It’s it just because of lack of services?
Somewhat related - anyone knows how to completely disable this message? I have turned off ASSistant, but this keeps popping up everytime I connect bluetooth headset. Thanks in advance
There’s a streamer I sometimes watch on twitch who used to play a game and then spend some time watching analog horror that chat had recommended. He intentionally phrased his stream titles so they’d show up in twitch notifications as, “now: [game/activity] later: anal…”
