MilitantAtheist, in AT-AT cutaway

Incredibly inefficient design

JohnDClay,

But very cool!

Custoslibera,

General Veers would like a word.

f in chat for Davin Felth.

INHALE_VEGETABLES, in George Lucas demonstrating how to use an E-11 blaster on the set of Star Wars

‘and then you go “pew pew pew”, now remember, this is the E-11 blaster so… LUKE STOP CHECKING OUT MY ASS’

FatAdama, in AT-AT cutaway

I remember this page from a book I had growing up. What’s neat is the UCS Lego set of this has the blue seats. I forgot about this cutaway so I was wondering why they chose blue. Now it makes sense.

SpaceNoodle, in A great arcade machine

Now this is pod racing.

Gork, in A great arcade machine

You can find Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer on Steam. Can’t compete with the arcade experience, but at least you can still play it.

CobblerScholar,

It’s on Switch too

Che_Donkey, in I like Star Wars

Well said.

very well said.

corsicanguppy, in Just saw this picture with "good Disney Star Wars", do you agree?

Solo is missing, and that’s too bad.

AbsoluteChicagoDog,

It’s not missing. The image is for good star wars.

c0mbatbag3l,
@c0mbatbag3l@lemmy.world avatar

I honestly think Solo got most of its hate due to riding on the tails of TLJ. People hated episode 8 so damn much it colored their ideas about Solo.

It wasn’t spectacular, but I’d willingly watch solo twice before ever turning on 8/9.

AbsoluteChicagoDog,

Solo gets hate because it sucks. I couldn’t name a single character a week after watching it.

appelkooskonfyt,

Han Solo was one of the character iirc

boredtortoise,

And donglover as Lando. And Finnish basketball guy as Chewie. It’s a good movie

dumpsterlid,

It’s a western in space and I loved it for that. I don’t really give a shit about all the space wizard plot lines in Star Wars though soo.

solitaire,
@solitaire@infosec.pub avatar

I fell asleep during Solo lmao

lightnsfw, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens concept art by Iain McCaig

Should have had her taking a shit in R2D2s decapitated head. That would have done a better job of setting expectations for those movies.

eddanja,

You mean… SUBVERTING EXPECTATIONS.

Silic0n_Alph4, in Has anyone here used a controller for the PC version of Rogue Squadron? Is it worth getting a controller?

I can confirm that the game works with a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick and have played the game to 100% that way. Mind you, that was in 1999 on Windows 98.

I’ve not tried it with an Xbox controller since, but my (now rather old) Sidewinder still works with the version of Rogue Squadron I got from GOG. Make of this what you will!

EdibleFriend, in Has anyone here used a controller for the PC version of Rogue Squadron? Is it worth getting a controller?
@EdibleFriend@lemmy.world avatar

Back on N64 there was this weird ass controller where most of the motion was done with your wrist. You strapped it to your forearm and your hand and then had buttons under your fingers. This game was the only thing I used it for and it was fucking amazing. I loved flying with that thing.

Then after two weeks the piece of shit broke and I never bought another one.

PlasticExistence, in People who read the Thrawn Trilogy, what do you think of it?

The original Thrawn trilogy is good, but I personally prefer the reboot trilogy by Zahn. That’s the character that we saw in Rebels, although he has a lot more depth in the books. His motivations for rising through the ranks of the Empire are not what you would expect them to be.

The second new trilogy goes into Thrawn’s youth and culture, and while I still enjoyed those three books as well, I think you basically have to love Thrawn’s character to get through them.

UKFilmNerd, in People who read the Thrawn Trilogy, what do you think of it?
@UKFilmNerd@feddit.uk avatar

After a long drought of anything Star Wars, this was very welcome and it turns out it was a great story as well.

I also remember the Dark Horse adaptation being really good as well.

DigitalGemini, in The Bad Batch | The Final Season Official Trailer | Disney+

As a Star Wars fan since the 1980s, please sell me on why I should spend time watching this show. I have heard good things but haven’t got around to watching it yet. What makes this show among the best of Star Wars? If it is.

setsneedtofeed,
@setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world avatar

I’m not particularly a fan of the art style, but this show has the best iteration of it both in the graphics and designs.

The action is good and it feels like a very distilled iteration of many of the good things about The Clone Wars but to me it is fresher to follow along with the Bad Batch as opposed to Anakin and Obi-Wan.

DigitalGemini,

Thanks for the detailed reply!

ShadowCat,
@ShadowCat@lemmy.world avatar

It’s certainly not the best, but if you enjoyed the clone wars and the characters of the clones, it’s worth watching to see their story continued into the era of the Empire

Kabutor,

this is the correct answer, you liked Clone Wars/Rebels, this is more of that on a more serious tone. You haven’'t watched CW/R? Probably you dont care about this

DigitalGemini,

Thanks!

FordBeeblebrox,

It shows the transition from Republic troops to Empire troops in real time as Palestine seizes control, and the animation is incredible. Probably the best looking animated Star Wars show so far.

Gamoc,

This anti Palestine propaganda is getting a bit far fetched.

setsneedtofeed,
@setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world avatar

I choked up laughing. Please don’t edit this.

FordBeeblebrox,

Autocorrect strikes again, I’m leaving it

Coasting0942, in Behind the scenes angle of Vader and Luke’s duel in Return Of The Jedi

Ha. This angle makes it look like Vader should have one hit KO’d Luke, especially with his cannon cybernetic augments

GBU_28, (edited )

That’s like, part of the plot.

Luke can stand up to him because he is force stronk. Where as before, when he hadn’t swamp trained, he was force floppy, and had to run, or got bodied

Here4CatPics, in Chewie going nuts on some stormtroopers, by Brian Rood.
