AceFuzzLord,

Don’t know if any other browsers do it, but Firefox for desktop added an option when right clicking links to copy without URL tracker. I don’t know if it works on yt links, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

Zero across my phone and desktop at the moment. Having more than around 5 tabs open at once does not sit well with me.

AceFuzzLord,

NewPipe and the fork Pipe pipe have been working working on my android. Can’t say anything on the piped or invidious side of things since I don’t watch videos on browser if I can avoid it.

It's funny how google pretends the music on YouTube isn't straight up piracy and everyone just goes along with it

Most people have extremely weird ideas of what’s considered piracy and what isn’t. Downloading a video game rom is piracy, but if you pay money to some Chinese retailer for an SD card containing the roms, that’s somehow not piracy. Exploiting the free trial on a streaming site by using prepaid visa cards is somehow not...

AceFuzzLord,

Probably, but at least with genres like vocaloid, you’ll find plenty of people taking songs/videos from sites like Bilibili or Niconico and they’ll either just straight up upload the video or will instead just slap on subtitles and upload without consent. There’s also a similar phenomenon with anime music as well, but that’s usually for just the music.

AceFuzzLord,

This is my dad in a nutshell. I’ll tell him about something simple on either his laptop or on whatever app he’s using on the smart TV and he’ll tell me to be quiet and that he can figure it out. I definitely think it’s a pride thing in us males. That, or he’s getting old and doesn’t want to deal with the realization that he doesn’t fully understand modern technology anymore.

AceFuzzLord,

Biggest downside and upside to Lemmy is the lack of content.

AceFuzzLord,

Back when I was a kid, I was the bottom and my brother slept up top. Of course that was back when it was required we shared a room.

AceFuzzLord,

I’m glad I have my outlook account because my other emails are pretty unprofessional.

AceFuzzLord,

You ain’t catching me do that, because if those balls are anything like foam blocks, it’s too much of a hassle to escape them.

AceFuzzLord,

I think when I was in, I only ever saw those maybe at one summer camp. I would have totally done it, but I’d drown because I am terrible at swimming.

AceFuzzLord,

Last I checked, in China, you are legally required to put in your name and ID for games like mobile games. If I recall correctly, the law says something about making sure children don’t spend all day gaming. And just inputting a fake Chinese name and Chinese ID isn’t inherently bad. The bigger problem would be what the app does behind the scenes. That’s what I’d be more concerned about.

I’ve had to do this with PvZ2 Chinese edition back in 2021, which was originally started by PopCap Shanghai, so it wasn’t just some random small company making some relatively obscure game. I personally think it’s a dumb law, but there’s nothing a foreigner like myself can do to really change it.

AceFuzzLord, (edited )

I know around 2021 I had this problem once, when I opened PvZ2 Chinese version. I was able to lookup and find a website that contained fake names, addresses, and IDs. It worked after I tried a few. A couple years later and it didn’t work, so I have no idea what to do.

Also, I don’t know if you need to know it or not, but for those that don’t know, the top input field bar thing is for name and the one below it is for Chinese ID.

AceFuzzLord,

First link that popped up on searx:

https://www.myfakeinfo.com/check/validate-china-citizenid.php/nationalidno/get-china-citizenidandname.php

Same site linked an ID validator:

myfakeinfo.com/…/validate-china-citizenid.php

If that doesn’t work, the next unique link was:

code-complete.com/chinaid/

That one let’s you pick your residence, enter a birthdate, and select male for female and will generate a bunch of supposedly valid IDs, but no names.

I cannot guarantee either of these will work.

AceFuzzLord,

I personally find it was a hell of a lot better when they were getting to the end and things weren’t just Fin and Jake randomly screaming while on an adventure to do something absolutely random.

AceFuzzLord, (edited )

Yo! I’d absolutely be down to see a super edgy Shadow who just happens to be that way because he’s closeted and ends up having feelings for Sonic! I doubt they have enough balls to do it, but I’d love to see it!

That, or because of his edge and being in some sort of suspended animation chamber for too long, Shadow is severely out of date with what he can and cannot say and do, similar to Abraham Lincoln in the Clone High reboot.

Edit: I accidentally mistook Abe for George Washington

AceFuzzLord,

Stumpt. Despite having 540k subs, they aren’t one of the super high energy balls to the walls energy where every 5 seconds they zoom in on a small part of the video. They usually have a much more calm energy about them and one thing I really like is how they aren’t telling you to like and subscribe every few minutes, let alone at all in their videos usually.

AceFuzzLord,

I couldn’t tell you how far into the series it is, but that is how I came across Detective Conan. Nearing a decade ago I found it on netflix and had absolutely no clue what was going on but I stuck with the maybe 12 or so episodes they had. I eventually learned that it was pretty far into the series. Couldn’t tell you how far, but pretty far in.

AceFuzzLord,

Aha! Now I got you! I’m sending a Swat team there this very instant!

AceFuzzLord,

I can’t recall my family having obscure movies. Don’t remember what it’s actually about, but I at least remember we had one Home On The Range VHS. Don’t recall ever watching it once, but this post made it come to the forefront of my memory

AceFuzzLord, (edited )

I couldn’t remember the clowns name, but a quick search found one John Wayne Gacey.

In a messed up way, it’s kinda fun to see how many people in the image you know the names of.

AceFuzzLord,

Saving this comment for the day it actually happens.

AceFuzzLord,

Honestly , can’t wait for the future where companies like them are allowed to make adless entertainment illegal. It’s going to be the absolute best future we could ever ask for. We should be thankful to our overlords for saving us from never having to see ads ever again. /s

AceFuzzLord,

I’ve definitely seen those, but never sailor moon specifically. I also don’t block them since I’ve already scrolled down far enough that there usually isn’t really any good content left to find at that point.

AceFuzzLord,

One of the only things I could think of that isn’t super expensive would be a Dreamcast VMU (or two, only have 1 currently) and a US copy of Chu Chu rocket. Really not much I want that isn’t expensive and I definitely ain’t asking for expensive shit.
