No kidding. Just earlier today, I was looking for a kind of niche tool used to wrap pallets in plastic, and I found nothing on google about it. It kept showing me everything BUT what I was looking for.

On bing, I found just about all of the information I needed about it. Turns out it’s niche partially because it’s made in my province, which I also found out from bing. Almost no one knows what I’m referring to when I mention it. It combines the technology of machine wrapping and hand wrapping, and it makes warehousing much easier sometimes. I wanted to recommend it to someone. Thanks Bing!

Be honest, do you still use reddit?

I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I...

These types people always talk as if they’re immune to sudden, life-changing events. It’s all fun and games until some random a-hole hits you while driving drunk and makes you permanently disabled. Maybe you’re unlucky and have your entire city/neighbourhood burn down from an uncontrolled wildfire.

YMMV. You have situations like the one you describe, and you have situations like mine. There’s a unit down the hall that keeps everyone on the damn floor awake. There’s a nice dude who lives there and raises his grandkids, and there’s also the kid’s father. The kids and the grandfather are great. They’re respectful, kind, and very friendly.

The kid’s father has this “fun” habit of sleeping with complete randos. You do you, yadda yadda. I try to mind my own business.

He makes it EVERYONE’S business. Every single time he gets dumped, he throws an enormous hissy fit. Screaming incoherently, banging on every door in the hallway, stomping about, etc. He doesn’t work, yet he throws a hissy fit when he has to watch his own kids because the grandfather has to work. It doesn’t matter if it’s 2am or 2pm, there’s a decent chance that that guy is pissed at something. It wasn’t uncommon to see him crying by the front doors.

It’s a great personal reminder to never start doing hard drugs. I only know that the guy does hard drugs because of the grandfather was venting to me about it. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times the cops have been called on him by other people.

Fuuuck I wish it was cheaper to move.

I can only speak for myself, but that’s exactly why I left my last job. I loved it and the people I worked with, but I couldn’t afford that pay rate with such poor benefits.

On my way out, they told me that they wished they had 10 more employees like me.

They didn’t want it bad enough to pay even one employee a little more, though. I am not the only person who left recently lmao

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not about telling other people how to dress or what to wear. Not at all.

To be honest with you, I don’t really go on twitch. When I made my comment, I had some of my earlier experiences with lemmy on my mind. I just turned off nsfw in my app settings though.

My main reasoning was so that certain things didn’t show up when I was showing something else to family, or if a coworker saw my phone over my shoulder. There are some jobs where you really don’t want your boss to see certain things, but most other forms of slacking off are ok.

For me, it wasn’t even about anyone’s chest. It was not wanting furry porn haha. They really should have thought about this before instating it.

Now people will be upset regardless of what they do.

I don’t get some of these comments. You can want to avoid random nudity without bring a prude or jealous.

I’d argue that a LOT of people are not interested in seeing 99.9% of the population naked, and there should be nothing wrong with that. I don’t care what they look like. Sometimes people just don’t want to look at rectums.

The mindset of “you have to be happy about unexpectedly seeing a stranger naked or you’re a prude” also doesn’t sit right with me.

I would have just stopped using twitch, personally.

There’s also verifying that you have the right oils. There are some scented oils that aren’t meant to be burnt

This might only be me, but when I’m constipated, my go to is hydration and lettuce.

I’ll get myself a nice big salad, and eat it super fast. The idea is that if you eat it fast, you won’t chew as much. The partially unchewed lettuce can help irritate your guts into doing a bit of a clean cycle. (Plus, veggies are already great for constipation.)

Some of it’s also probably situation based.

If you hit on every single person of the gender that you like at one gym, they’ll probably start to feel like you really just want just anyone who will say yes. They’ll probably feel like you don’t like them for them, and that you’re just trying to keep your bed warm. Most people who want relationships want to be with someone who likes them individually as a person. Try not to write “scripts” for the situation in your head too much, either. If you do, it might crash and burn the second that someone goes off of that “script”.

It’s kind of tragic how all of this has become. A relationship likely won’t fix any problems you might have with yourself, nor would it fix most of the other aspects of your life. A partner will also have their own needs and wants, and you should try to have room to provide some of that before you start dating.

Don’t listen to guys like Tate. If he really had good advice, more people from his fan base would be in a happy relationship now, no? He makes money by making you continue to watch his videos. That’s all he cares about. He’s giving you bad advice so he can keep making money off of your sadness. That’s not a bro thing to do.

Don’t follow the plot of any rom-coms. That behaviour is usually a fantastic way to get a restraining order and absolutely ruin any chances you might have had with that person.

Find the little things that make you happy. Gardening? MTG? Video games? Hockey? Drawing? MMA? Take the time to properly enjoy those things that you love with the people who are already around you. It will help build some of that confidence. Let youself be passionate about your hobbies sometimes. It’s ok, I promise.

Try not to worry too much if you mess up or if you ruin your chances with one person. There are over 8 billion people on earth, so there’s almost always someone else you can try with. NO ONE succeeds 100% of the time, and that is more than OK. That is human.

Don’t beat yourself up over not succeeding right away. Unless you are literally currently on your death bed, you still have time.

Outside of the dating stuff, be kind to youself, and try to make sure you’re taking care of yourself. Self care isn’t just fitness and healthy eating. Sometimes could be having pizza in the bath, sometimes it might be playing DnD over multiple continents, sometimes it might be watching cartoons, and sometimes it could even be something like skincare. Your happiness is important, and you should treat it as such.

As long as it doesn’t harm anyone else in the process, please do what you need to do to feel happy. Life is too short to pause your happiness for someone who hasn’t shown up yet. Life is too short to wait to improve things until you meet someone who hasn’t shown up yet.

You deserve happiness, and the sooner you acknowledge that, the better. Find happiness despite what life might throw at you. Try to find joy even in chaos, and always remember that bad feelings usually don’t last forever. You can get through these hard times.

What is forgiveness to you?

To a lot of people, forgiveness comes when the person who did wrong feels regret over their actions. Not regret for the consequences, but regret for the harm that their actions caused.

Tbh, if someone is hoping that just paying false lip service will guarantee then forgiveness from an all knowing being, I’ll wonder what exactly it is that they believe. An all knowing God would know whether you actually regret harming someone, or if you just regret not getting into heaven. Is there any chance you could explain that to me? I have seriously never understood why some religious people believe that they could fool an all knowing God.

If that amount of sin is forgiven easily, I would argue that many of the harmless actions that current organized reliegon is against would also be forgiven.

It didn’t have a removable battery, but I used to use an older Asus Zenfone 3 ZE552KL that really kicked arse.

It had cards slots, a headphone jack, a built in radio that used wired headphones for signal, and the damned thing was as reasonably waterproof as I could imagine a smartphone to be. It’s camera was pretty great for the price, too.

Well, one day it fell very hard on a sharp rock, and the screen shattered. The crack made a hole a few milimeteres deep, and it was about a centimetre wide. It might not sound like much, but the crack in the screen was very much there. My happy arse managed to then have it fall out of my pocket and right into the flush of a high-powered toilet.

I left it to dry for one day, and it worked almost like new again. It still powers up today, but the since security updates stopped years ago, i don’t use it anymore. IIRC, it wasn’t too expensive, but I forget if there was a sale going on at the time.

I hope I can find another phone like that around that general price point one day. I can dream haha.

If you’re ever looking for cheap jewelry/earrings, you should be very very careful.

CTV Marketplace did an investigation a few years ago, and they found that a lot of children’s jewelry contained high levels of lead and/or cadmium. These pieces were found in multiple places, including Claires and H&M. Some children’s makeup was also contaminated.
