I’m pretty sure the complaint is about instances that do have captchas/some kind of verification enabled but still being defederated.

The cost of a bank account has nothing to do with fees for electronic cash. Fees for electronic cash are collected per each transaction and are paid by the business you buy from. These huge fees are why businesses are slow to adopt electronic cash in Germany, they see no reason to pay 1%+ of their revenue to Mastercard or Visa or whatever.

Honestly there should be governmental electronic cash with the same advantages as cash, i.e. no fees & no traceability.

That probably was the “not up-to-date filter lists” problem, or the rare “filter lists themselves not updated yet”, but they are within a few hours usually.

Most often this happens because the user runs some other addon/blocker that interferes with ublock (or gets detected). It’s important to test with only ublock active and see if the problem persists, and if not, to slowly enable more and more to see what is causing the issues.

It’s not that creators won’t upload because there are no viewers. It’s because on other platforms there is no way to earn money. “Because there are no viewers” doesn’t make sense, because it costs a creator literally nothing to upload a video multiple times, to more platforms, instead of only once, which would theoretically only increase their reach in total. However, creators want their viewers to watch on YouTube because that’s where the money is earned.

Not an “easy” way, but what I’ve been doing is simply whenever I handle an email in the account I want to switch from, I use that particular situation to change the email in the settings of the account of whatever I’m handling in that moment.

That way it doesn’t become an overwhelming task, and if you are consistent with it and do it each time you handle an email, slowly but surely you will have switched completely.

What is good to eat when you have no appetite?

I am super sick right now and haven’t eaten much in a few days. It’s getting to the point where I am gonna need to force myself to eat something to keep my strength up but everything just sounds terrible to me right now. I have been subsisting mostly on small glasses of milk and the occasional packet of instant oatmeal....

Seasoning is not included in this I think. It’s only stuff like strawberries, banana and whatever people put in their oatmeal, idk, I don’t eat it. So actual other foods. I.e. a chicken breast by itself is a percectly fine food, a strawberry is as well.

But yeah I mean it’s meant to be a joke, like you say, things taste better/different together, or only taste good if mixed with something, and that’s perfectly fine.

I don’t think the reasons are really important, there’s no “devil’s advocate” to play here. If it’s annoying then it’s annoying, it takes someone out of the experience, even if you didn’t intend it that way. That doesn’t really get changed by understanding the mechanics behind it.

The additional perspective was interesting, I was just talking about the “devil’s advocate” part. One uses that expression if you want to actually argue for something. But there’s no arguing to be done, you can’t argue someone out of being annoyed. If you had just shared the explanation I wouldn’t have said anything, just appreciated it :)

What I mean is, how do you know that the tribalism gene is gone? I’m pretty sure that if the people that “have no tribalism gene” grew up in an environment where tribalism was normal, they would have developed the traits just like everyone else.

It’s very arrogant to assume someone who is not acting in a tribalistic way has in some way a different biological make-up, as if they were some kind of more advanced lifeform. It’s very likely pretty much the same genetic code, just expressed differently through environmental factors.

I do not mean that tribalism is not present in every environment, it was meant like for example selfishness. There’s selfishness everywhere, but some people are more or less selfish, and that mostly depends on the total environment someone grew up in, how much selfishness was discouraged or encouraged, how much it lead to advantages or disadvantages. I assume that it’s the same with tribalism.

Are you sure about that? I think those that “do not have it” have just reframed all of humanity to be their “tribe”, i.e. they still have it, just not “using” it

I’m not sure if you watched any Star Trek… Do you think life on the Enterprise or whatever is terrible? Isn’t human life portrayed pretty much as utopian as possible in Star Trek?

On the other hand, it’s possible to do what’s needed without constant anxiety. Even without anxiety, leaving a job without plan could be identified as being a bad idea, depending on the situation.

In countries that take acceptable care of their citizens (which I definitely wouldn’t count the US as, if that’s where you’re coming from), many more people live with an inappropriately large amount of anxiety than with too little.
