CADmonkey,

I watched an interview with Wes Chatham (the actor who plays Amos) and something he did to play the part better was asking a psychologist to read “The Churn” and explain what someone who grew up in that situation would act like.

CADmonkey, (edited )

He really is. He was great as Moriarty opposite Robert Downey jr., and he killed it as Valery Legasov in Chernobyl.

EDIT: He also had a short bit in a show called “Carnival Row”, I’d almost forgotten.

CADmonkey,

This is vehicle-dependent for me.

If I’m in the car and it turns yellow in time for me to stop normally and gently, I’ll stop. If I’m on my bike I will go through the yellow, in case the person behind me isnt paying attention.

CADmonkey,

I just assume they are all oblivious and are using both brain cells to scroll facebook.

“Too strong, Mr. Data, use the Kubota B5100 setting”

CADmonkey,

I looooove that I can save my game in BG3 at basically any time, and I love even more that I can walk away from the game for a minute, even mid-combat, to do something.

CADmonkey,

This happens in the world of CNC machines too. I used to run a two million dollar Mazak 300 Fabrigear that was made in 2008. When I started the machine up, Windows 98 booted up before starting the FANUC control program that actually ran the machine.

CADmonkey,

I have an entire kit for tinkering with phones, and this is one of the tools it includes.

CADmonkey,

I don’t think it is, it’s just some generic kit I bought when I needed little screwdrivers.

CADmonkey,

Unless it’s raining all week.

CADmonkey,

Yeah, usually when we try to dry clothes. The other thing we have are storms that can spread your clothes to all of your neighbor’s houses.

CADmonkey,

I know someone who has delcared bankruptcy at least twice… each time she was showered with ads for credit cards and auto loans. Apparently the thought process is “this person can’t declare bankruptcy again for x years, so we’re safe.”

Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?

I’ve exhausted things I can sleep to on Netflix, and it’s literally impossible to sleep to things on Prime (so I barely watch anything there; it’s not worth falling asleep to something I like, since I might be punished for it), so I’ve started putting on YouTube in the evenings since it won’t wake me with silence at...

CADmonkey,

Technology Connections is awesome. He’s the one who got me to understand how old CRT televisions could put a picture on a radio signal that could be picked up by both color and B&W TV’s.

CADmonkey,

Nobody else has a wife who battles against them with the wrapping paper tubes?

CADmonkey,

Just had to do this to my wife’s computer for the first time. Mine hasn’t needed it just yet.

CADmonkey,

This adult is excited to ride his motorcycle home after work, excited to take an edible and play whatever video game I have been playing, go ride bicycles with my kid, maybe read a book, and definitely practice cooking. When it’s bedtime I have to go lie down next to a nice thick woman with long red hair and a sex drive that I am doing my best to keep up with.

I don’t understand why I have this life. I wish others could be as happy.

CADmonkey,

Last time I had to be knocked out for surgery, I remember feeling myself fading out, and just before everything went out I felt the nurses and technicians getting me uncovered, when one of them exclaimed “Wow! Look at all that red hair!”

She wasn’t looking at my head.

CADmonkey,

Don’t care, doesn’t matter, [blocked]

CADmonkey,

I had a gym membership, and just because of horror stories I used a reloadable credit card to sign up. I went every day starting summer 2019 and was making progress, and then Covid happened and the gym closed.

But they kept trying to charge me, and wouldn’t let me cancel because I had to do so in person, and the place was closed. So I just stopped putting money on the card after using what was on it to put gas in the car.

CADmonkey,

Nope, I want both of us to be going crazy with desire first.

CADmonkey,

I look for there to be a big push for remote work once some leases come up for renewal.

CADmonkey,

It’s mostly because people in the US don’t drink much hot tea. Coffee is more popular here, and dedicated coffee makers are very common.
