CaptPretentious,

As of New Year’s Pluto.TV moved this steam to DS9.

Last part of last year, that “channel” was Voyager. At midnight Pacific on new years it rolled to DS9 instead.

CaptPretentious,

For now. My guess is it’ll be DS9 for all of this quarter. It’s already gone through all of DS9 once so far. It just restarted this morning. Then I assume next quarter and I’ll switch back to Voyager. I think that’s what they’re doing with the other Star Trek channel as well bouncing between the original series and next generation.

Because when it cut over from Voyager to DS9 it wasn’t at the end of Voyager. It was up to the episode where they find the ship with the neural interface that sort of takes over Tom. And then immediately following that was the first episode of DS9, and that was January 1st. It was 2:00 a.m. my time but midnight Pacific Coast.

CaptPretentious,

Red pill.

While I could retire right now with the blue pill, I wouldn’t be happy.

Red pill means I could spend more time and cultivate a better relationships with the people who actually matter to me. I’d spend a lot more time with my great grandparents.

I could also focus on being true to who I am and not being who I thought others wanted. Basically be who I was in college… But now at 6.

Of course, I could make all the right investments to make a lot of money.

I wouldn’t want to just go into the same career. While I might for a while, honestly I’d have the knowledge and money to take a run at a political career.

CaptPretentious,

I hadn’t thought of that, but it’s genius.

CaptPretentious,

In the afterlife, first thing he’ll say is 'Don’t EVEN say it…"

CaptPretentious,

When I was a teenager I wanted kids. I fully bought into ‘the American dream’ being sold. I’d get me a wife, kids, house, and a career. Helped that I actually like kids. Made it my life’s goal to try to be the best provider, best dad, best husband I could be.

Put myself through college, I have a good career, bought a house when I was 24, and still love kids. But I gave up on dating when I was like 28(?). It just became not worth it for so many reasons.

This last fall marked 20 years since I left my hometown to start my life… And I felt like a failure (still do). I exist to work and pay bills.

CaptPretentious,

Minnesota checking in. This is exactly correct. Great time for sitting around a fire.

Bluetooth headphones were very much useable when we had headphone jacks. Now your only option is overpriced Bluetooth devices that will not last.

Internal storage on your phone is not that big. What they want to do is sell you cloud storage. iPhone 15 Pro, to get 1TB of internal storage is $1500. The cheapest Samsung is ‘Galaxy S22 Ultra, 1TB’ @ $1600. And the Google Pixel 8, your looking at $1200. Each option basically costs about $500 for that 1TB option. But I could buy a 1.5TB card for $150 on Amazon…

Phone’s being thinner is the dumbest marketing point. It’s counterproductive to everything you want the phone to have. Like a decent sized battery, proper cooling, and features… And make it so that the phone isn’t flimsy. To say that people no longer needed these features is also just dumb. You know who decided people no longer need these features, someone in Apple’s marketing department who realized you could sell $150 headphones instead of giving away quality $20 headphones.

You need to realize that the reason people keep buying new phones isn’t because of the new features (which there are none) it’s because their phone now sucks because it’s aging out because they can’t replace anything. Imagine being able to recycle the battery instead of creating just a bunch of e-waste every couple of years.

CaptPretentious,

I’ve been with the same place for about 16 years. I wasted a lot of time staying in one department trying to be the best employee. I’ve moved repeatedly just within the company. Because moving within the company is pretty easy to do. The yearly pay raises I was getting was garbage. By moving departments and renegotiating my pay I’ve effectively doubled my pay from 4 years ago.

When there’s no incentive to stay but all the reason to go…

CaptPretentious,

Lefsa.

Making it solo is a monstrous pain in the butt. It’s so easy to screw up too.

CaptPretentious,

Whose Generation Is It Anyway?

Were the labels are made up and none of it matters.

CaptPretentious,

To become bird, your options are either an item or transmission wizard.

B. Not even a question. A is awful (except being friends with Tom could be chill)

CaptPretentious,

Remember when we used to think once in a lifetime events was actually a once-in-a-lifetime…

CaptPretentious,

They should. But that went out the window before Bill showed up.

CaptPretentious,

Take your time brother. There is no rush. The game has literally been getting better with time.

CaptPretentious,

Which would be perfect. To probably get the best sleep of your life.

CaptPretentious,

Bethesda games are buggy because Bethesda is lazy and just can’t be bothered to give a damn. Will tell you ‘it just works’. Loves DLC and microtransactions (that includes Starfield).

Larian made a massively intricate game. It has bugs. Actively works on the bugs, patch after patch. Sold you a complete game.

Gee I wonder why people give Bethesda crap and this game is game of the year…
