Isn’t it fun when you go to sleep on your left side and roll over in your sleep, only to wake up in the middle of the night sick and ready to vomit from heartburn? It’s like my body is actively working against me when I sleep.
Enough that I’m not completely broke before my next paycheck.
Seriously, that’s all it would take for me to be happy, a little bit of disposable income.
It was about 45 days for me before my taste and smell came back, I got it the first round in 2020 and I felt like death for about a week then I felt fine but couldn’t taste or smell anything for 6 weeks.
Good morning, English isn’t my first language and it happens quie often that I need to select a good chunk of text to translate it with DeepL, why, in often cases, is impossible but select the title of an article that Lemmy’s bot has summarised? I would appreciate, and I am pretty confident I am not the only one, if the...
I use Connect, and it shows comment count but when I open the post I get no comments waaaayyyy too often, if I open the post in a browser I get all the comments why ?...
I have bots disable in my account settings so the bot accounts don’t show up, but they’re still counted in the total number of comments for posts.
Could it be that you have bot accounts disabled?
If it’s really cold I’ll do 3-4 layers. Typically for my legs I’ll do Long John’s, then a pair of sweats, then my jeans.
For my torso I’ll also use a Long John shirt, then a long sleeve sweatshirt, then a hoodie, then a Carhartt jacket. Also, always take a few extra pairs of socks, if you’re feet get wet from sweat, they’ll get very cold as soon as you slow down or take a break.
Well, in my opinion the fingerprint sensor is far superior for one. Other than that it’s a little smaller than current generation phones but I think it’s a more manageable size than the current generation
Get a flagship phone from a generation or two ago, I’m still using my Pixel 5 and I love this phone and they’re dirt cheap at the moment, both new and refurbished, because it’s 3 generations behind
A similar situation myself, I was supposed to go see a concert at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio in 2004, but backed out because I was a senior in high school and my parents refused to let me skip school on a Thursday to go to a concert 2hrs away on a Wednesday night.
There was a shooting that night that killed Dimebag Darrell.
I’ve tried it and honestly it’s just way too empty for me, and they like it that way. It feels like they’re isolationists and very slow moving. Not a bad place overall and great if you want a low energy environment that’s more fixated on community engagement than memes, but the engagement is days apart and and there’s not a ton of active users. The site layout is almost exactly the same as old Reddit and it feels familiar in that respect, but it’s not a good time waster if you check your phone a lot.
I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I...
There’s a few things that I follow that do have communities here, but little to no engagement in those communities. I’ll occasionally get on to look at those subreddits for updates, but I don’t have an account anymore so I don’t log in and I don’t engage with the communities. I also use RES so they don’t get any of my advertising revenue. Someone had linked a read only Reddit client before but I can’t remember what it was, If anyone does remember let me know so I can switch to that.
It’s usually in the sidebar just like it was on Reddit. Also make sure that you’re only viewing your subscribed communities instead of “All” which is the default setting I believe.
Having unlimited power means you control everything. You have no time to enjoy your power because you're constantly making sure the laws of physics stay and balance so the universe doesn't dissolve.
You conserve your angular momentum, so if you move at all in latitude the earth we'll be moving at a different speed. It would be like stepping out of a moving vehicle onto the freeway but a whole lot faster.
Although water can't be compressed there's a few other factors.
Density changes with temperature, and it's a lot colder at the bottom then the top.
There are air bubbles in the water, all of it. Although atmospheric air mixing by waves is unlikely to make it all the way to the bottom, biology produces gases via several different methods and gas can be compressed, which reduces the space between water molecules and increases the density.
Utopia? Flying jetson cars? Mole people living underground? Everything’s on fire and humanity ends? I’m just curious about anyone’s thoughts in general 😀
I read The Verge's latest interview with Steve Huffman here and it seems as though the Reddit blackout is having little to no effect. It also seems as though the communities at large don't really care and will probably just use the official app or don't really know there are 3rd party ones. So it seems this will pass and be...
They sure are trying really hard to put a stop to the blackout they say is having no effect.
It may be true that the disturbance has minimal effect on overall site traffic and advertising revenue, but it's caught the attention of the media which could have much larger effects.
But the blackout isn't really what's catching most of the attention anymore, it's the mishandling of the situation that's ending up in the news most of the time now. Spez is bringing most of this on himself.

If you got COVID and lost the ability to taste things, did it ever come back? Otherwise, did you experience any other long term consequences from the pandemic in general?
Never heard any follow ups on the taste thing, so I need answers...
why is it so difficult select text from posts?

Out of all the cars you've owned, which one holds a special place in your heart as the absolute favourite.
Shamelessly stolen from /r/askreddit.

Those of you who work 8+ hours outside in the cold regularly, how do you dress for the job?

so this might be a little embarrassing, but how do I create a torrent and upload to a tracker?

Lemmy, recommend me a good budget Android phone please

Be honest, do you still use reddit?

Okay, how do I block all this meme stuff?
Just as the title says. Dunno why memes are of interest now (out of the loop) but it’s driving me nuts
You can have any superpower, but the first person to reply chooses a side effect
self-explanatory!!
Is water denser at the bottom of the ocean?
The deeper you go, the more water above you is pressing down on you. Does this increase water density the deeper you go?
What do you feel like life will be like on earth in 100 years?

How much of an impact is the protest really having on Reddit?
