ColeSloth,

Not until proven guilty. Don’t you remember the US legal motto? No, not the one about different sets of rules for rich people. The one about innocent until proven guilty.

ColeSloth,

You run into issues where the website detects what you’re doing and blocks your access? It happens if I use ad blocking through my vpn.

ColeSloth,

Am I rich like they are?

ColeSloth, (edited )

Yeah. That’s bs though. Being rich and worried about it while you can afford security and large amounts of property and several vehicles and exclusive clubs and restaurants etc is 100% different than having to deal with the same issues, but with $60k a year instead.

Famous celebrity is a trade off. You’re giving everyone here only the option of taking on the bad portion, while having none of the good portion.

Also remember, most celebrities CHOOSE their fame/lifestyle. They want rich Famous with those issues over $60k and no fame and fortune.

ColeSloth,

Slightly disturbed, I guess. It’s not very hard to find where a person lives if you want to, though.

ColeSloth,

Is it much different from a pallet wrapper? A big platform you can set a pallet on loaded with stuff and it spins? And you hold what’s like a yard wide rolling pin with plastic wrap on it to wrap the pallet as it spins?

ColeSloth,

Nerd jealous of the jock that brings more money into the college.

ColeSloth,

This one for sure. Listened to the entirety of The Dark Tower series on this, over the course of months. Literally not a single issue or hiccup the entire time. 127 hours worth.

Secret service agents moments after the 1981 assassination attempt of Ronald Reagan. (lemmy.world)

Excerpt: On this day in 1981, President Ronald Reagan was shot in the chest at the side entrance of the Washington Hilton on Connecticut Avenue by John Hinckley Jr. Reagan was walking to his limousine after a speech to AFL-CIO leaders when Hinckley, 25, who was standing among a group of reporters, fired six shots, hitting Reagan...

ColeSloth,

I had t9 on lock back in the day. Write and send a message without having to look at my phone at all. Sure, there was no internet on there, but that tiny Nokia would stay charged for like 5 days and survive a 20 foot drop on cement without a case.

Fun fact: they would NOT survive being dropped into a gallon of polyurethane floor finish :-(

ColeSloth,

That looks like being poo-r with no honeys. Guess I’ll have to bounce and keep on the grind.

ColeSloth,

Was supposed to be 16 years old.

ColeSloth,

They’ll probably find a way of authenticating that a phone number is using an iPhone, or start requiring an extra step when a number tries registering for use on its servers.

ColeSloth,

That is not what it looked like at all, really. But yes. Dude super fucked up, and got an entire cave permanently shut down.

ColeSloth,

Like… They’re straight up taking it back? No refunding? That is so asinine.

ColeSloth,

And idiots will do it, too.

ColeSloth,

Just FYI: there’s been about 45 million PS5’s sold to date. There’s been over 130 million Switch’s sold. PS4 sold 117 million during its total run.

They’re in the lead against Xbox. They don’t really cross paths with Nintendo. Different demographic, sort of.

ColeSloth,

My normal lithium battery charger automatically slows its charging speed as battery voltage nears its capacity. I could set it at 1000mah and it will step down to less than 1/10 of that before charging is complete.

ColeSloth,

It’s because the commercial looked very “more than brother and sister” during the commercial. It was pretty abnormal behavior.

ColeSloth,

SNL.

How to bypass a metered connection?

In North America, using Xfinity for reference. I want to create both a home NAS and offline Wiki/media backup. Problem is to get the amount of data I need would blow through my plan and throttle my speed. I guess I could try and do it over a longer period or download just before the billing cycle renews so even if I go over it...

ColeSloth,

I have a t-mobile gateway with no cap. My phone is t-mobile so I pay $30 a month (no taxes/extras) for it. I believe if it’s your only thing you want from t-mobile it’s $50 a month.

At least in my area the speeds are plenty fast, ping is around 45, and I think I’ve lost connection that I noticed a couple times in the last year, and not for very long. A lot more consistent connection than my cable internet was.

I suggest having t-mobile send you their gateway and trying it. It’s no charge if you decide you don’t want it within the first two weeks and it’s just month to month billing so no contract bullshit.
