How to pull rocks out of pipe in the ground?

My mom has a hole in the ground that she puts her clothes drying hanger in. Like this. The hole in the ground is a 2" or so pipe, set in concrete. The pipe has filled with gravel. Anyone have a tip on getting the rocks out? I can only get so many out using my fingers and then trying to use a set of chopsticks.

Devi,

Blue tack and a stick? Like stick the rocks to it then pull out?

Devi,

I'm sure there's one you could but the one I have curdles the milk. That was one of the first things I tried.

Devi,

Pisang Ambon, banana liqueur, I tried it in a bar in Spain, really liked it, and bought it. But what do you do with Banana Liqueur in your house? Nothing mixes well with that. Occasionally I sip it, but I've had it a decade and drunk maybe a third.

Devi,

This is not a twitter I follow, I had to search out the cartoon to explain the issue and this was the first result.

But I do agree with your second point, Charlie Hebdo do this to anger people, to get followers. They are looking to recruit the far right and create backlash against certain groups.

Devi,

A lot of people misunderstand who Charlie Hebdo are. So this -

https://twitter.com/AkyolinEnglish/status/1622980163817336834?lang=en

Is their reaction to the Turkey earthquake, There were roughly 51k killed, and their cartoon was that this was good because that was less muslims they had to kill.

Their 'Mohammed edition' was a full comic about how much they hated muslims. It was pure racism and in many countries they would have been prosecuted for hate speech.

They are a hate group.

This is the meaning of two wrongs don't make a right. Charlie Hebdo are disgusting, the people who attacked them so severely were absolutely wrong, but neither act makes either of them right.

Devi,

They've done many many offensive things. They're an awful publication and it's disgusting that they're allowed to exist.

I'm not sure the rest of France reflects your support as there's been both local and worldwide protests about them over the years.

Devi,

It's not that simple is it? If you set a church on fire then should you go free because of past issues by the church?

On drawing, should you be able to draw your friends child being shot? Again, these are not issues you should kill for, but you can understand why people are mad.

Devi,

When I was younger and went out all night often me and my flatmates used to wake up and watch that until we felt better. Like 4 hours of it every saturday and sunday morning.

Devi,

I feel like that makes sense. I was reading a book recently about zoo history and it was relatively recently when a lot of primates were kept exclusively inside to keep them warm, it makes logical sense to protect them, but a few zoos in the 20's and 30's started giving them a bit of time outside and realised that it made a real difference to their health. Now we generally give them free access outside and all the other improvements to see long healthy lives.

It's taken a long time for us to realise how to raise healthy humans, nevermind healthy animals.

Devi,

This is old fashioned dominance training, it's been proven not to work well and it damages the dog and your relationship with them.

Devi,

Jellyfish are really weak, obviously they don't really have control over themselves but I think even if they did they'd be pretty hopeless. maybe they could travel where they want together?

Is there a place with the complete Doctor Who collection (Classic, Modern, AND spin-offs)?

Unfortunately the BBC has decided Australia doesn’t get to watch any Doctor Who that was released before 2005 or is a spin-off. So uh, anyone got a plex share or torrent with the lot? Immediate preference is getting the same versions as what is available on iPlayer in the UK, but would settle for DVD rips if that’s what’s...

Devi,

Everything doesn't exist. There are 97 episodes currently missing. I started watching from the first ep a while back, there was a fair few more missing at the time, but I pretty soon got lost with big chunks missing.

You can use iplayer through a VPN if that's useful to you.

Devi,

You can't bring yourself to tether him but electrocution is just fine?? That makes no sense.

Huskies are escape artists, they will get out of nearly anything eventually if left to their own devices, including an electric fence, you need to supervise them. A fence with a top that leans in is the best method.

Devi,

I think the people who are genuinely made unhappy by it just don't really understand it. My friend told me once that she avoids it cause she sees everyone having a better life than her and gets depressed, but people just put good stuff on social media cause you don't want to be a bummer. It's just like going out for drinks, you don't sit down and go "I've really been struggling with stomach pain this week, my doctor is doing scans", no, too much, and that's what a facebook status is, just an opening statement read by potentially hundreds, so it's a light statement, a joke, something to share, that sort of thing.

My beagle has suddenly started resource guarding random stuff. What should I do to get this behavior to stop?

I’ll start off by saying that he has a bad past life. He was obviously abused by his previous owners and straight up abandoned in the woods. He has bad anxiety that he is on Prozac for, and it seems to be helping for the most part....

Devi,

Exercise doesn't have to be walking, how mobile can you be? Can you hide food around the house? Or throw a frisbee?

It might be tricky to teach but if you're stuck in one spot you can get a couple of balls and play fetch, you hold the second ball, refuse to throw it until he brings the first one within reaching distance, smart dogs get that quite quickly. It also helps their brain cause they have to work out what you want them to do.

Talking of the brain, sometimes thinking is as good as doing, so you can set up puzzles, set up a frozen kong, all sorts.

Devi,

That's really country specific, in the UK we only have one pine and it's not that common. We have a huge issue currently because after the wars they replanted a lot of land with pine as it was fast growing and we needed wood, but now they've outcompeted the native trees so there's a big program to get rid of the pine and plant native trees, but it needs to be done really slowly or the whole forest is messed up.

Devi,

I taught teenagers for a long while, the things about teenagers that are annoying are also so very relateable. They're full of hormones, incapable of handling their emotions, and way too busy coping with all of that to be in school.

A lot of adults seem to have amnesia about that time but spending time with whole classes of them makes your own experiences of it flood back.

Like when a guy you liked didn't say hi to you in the morning and you had a whole existential crisis that nobody would ever love you, cried in the toilet at lunch time, then decided you were a strong independent woman, got over the whole thing, by the end of the day you were like "screw him, I deserve so much better!" then you saw him leaving school and he was like "Sorry I didn't say hi earlier, I had my headphones in" and it wasn't actually a thing at all? That's basically being a teenager all the time.

Devi,

If you know how to take care of fish, there's some fish that are more personable. I had a Butterkoferi Tilapia at work who was fun, he would play with a ping pong ball, we had a constant fight on how we decorated his tank, I like gravel to be nicely spread out, he liked it all in one corner.

There's things like flowerhorns who like being stroked, or puffers who recognise their owners.

It's not a dog but it's definitely a buddy.

Devi,

I can't find a good site that explains everything but this one explains how they use genealogy to collect names to baptise -

https://www.al.com/living/2012/08/mormons_use_genealogy_at_churc.html

They then use a proxy person to run a baptism for them.

Devi,

The Golden State Killer was caught after police detectives uploaded his DNA to a personal genomics website in 2017 pretending it was theirs.

That's untrue. They uploaded it to Gedmatch which is the one website that allows these things. They didn't 'pretend it was theirs', they legitimately uploaded it from a police account. They do this a lot but you need to opt in now due to the legal challenges. They've solved quite a few crimes and identified many unidentified bodies, including a number of murdered children.

Devi,

End of an era. Start of a new one though.
