Too bad it’s gnome. May as well use Windows

You can’t imagine how a jar falling from the top shelf of the fridge could break?

Ok come on. This is getting absurd. Trigger warnings are so stupid most of the time and they don’t even help

That’s totally not fair. Some things are more wrong than others. And the “everything is correct even” language people are just as insufferable as the “there is exactly one correct usage” people.

Using it’s instead of its is not slang, or an evolving use or alternative spelling. It’s simply wrong.

Once you consider that “yeet” is the opposite of “yoink”, it really seems like it’s actually a millennial word. Though interestingly, my spell check considers “yeet” correct but not “yoink”

False. KDE will feel much more familiar. And using a system with a modern kde version is way better than the ancient versions Ubuntu and all of its cousins use

As a senior software engineer with a degree in electrical engineering, I’ll 99% of the time pull up a python shell to do simple arithmetic. Or Google “1 day in minutes”

I’m pretty sure Lemmy is like 95% software devs

This is a shitposting sub. There’s lots of stuff that lots of people don’t want to read. Doesn’t mean every post needs to have a description of what will be in the post. And marking it as NSFW just devalues the point of NSFW

    Fal,

Oh come on. It’s text. You can stop reading at any time. Not everything has to have trigger warnings, which are generally not effective and can in fact be harmful

Immigrants. I always knew it was them. Even when it was the bears, I knew it was them

Usually how these things work is that it’s either employees donating and having to list their employer. Or the employer will match any donation to a non profit from any employee up to a certain amount.

So this could be 1 employee donating 3k and Microsoft matching it

anthromorphic (the word for making something human like from something else)

I don’t think you have to explain this. Lemmy is entirely made up of 35 year old furries

Get over it. If people post unpopular things, they’re going to get downvotes. Even if answering an explicit question

think murder is abohherent, baby murder especially so. I don’t know when the right to life begins, so I err on the side of caution

Why stop there? You have no idea, right? So why do you masturbate or use condoms? You’re killing millions of potential babies!

If you don’t know, you should err on the side of caution for the rights of the people who you do know are real.

Or maybe you should just stay out of it, because as you say, you don’t know. Leave it to the scientists and doctors who DO know and who almost universally support abortion access.

I’ve also noticed some sites displaying totally unrelated videos above their news articles. Extremely weird

You people are crazy. What do you do on your computers that you don’t need to see what’s all running? Do you just not care what your computer is doing? Do you not have to switch between applications at all?

Because literally everyone on Lemmy is 35
