There’s no such thing as too stupid anymore.

What did the 1080p TV say to the 4K TV?:

“UHD?”

Reminds me of the Annoy-O-Tron that Think Geek used to sell. You would hide it somewhere and it would emit a beep at a random interval.

You know what’s fun? The post-surgery “you always sleep on this side? Learn to sleep on the other one because you’re going to be this way for weeks, motherfucker” sleeping position.

You know… maybe putting a camera with a near-infinite capacity for free photos in everyone’s pocket a was bad idea…

Remember when Piers Morgan came to the U.S. and everyone hated him here too, so he slinked back to the UK?

I got to spend a couple of days at a sci-fi convention at a table next to Richard Hatch of the 1970s Battlestar Galactica fame. He was a really cool guy and we spent all day joking around. Every so often, someone would come by and say, “hey! You’re uh… uh…” and I would say, “he’s Dirk Benedict.” (That was his BSG co-star). Once I told a lady that she better not call him Dirk Benedict because it makes him really mad.

If I had a photo of Dirk Benedict, I would have asked him to sign it.

Sadly, Richard Hatch is no longer with us. I really enjoyed hanging out with him. He was way into tabletop gaming and even would leave the table sometimes to host a session. I’m not a huge TTGer anymore, but I wish I could have had Richard Hatch as a GM.

True in the U.S. Except, of course, in Alaska. Somehow in Alaska, very red state Alaska, home to Sarah Palin, every state resident gets a dividend from the oil revenue. Not that I approve of the reason why considering no one should be making revenue by fossil fuels, but somehow Republicans are fine with that exception. I wish they were pressed on it occasionally.

That’s what they actually want anyway. Drones for their business ventures.

The one advantage of being significantly ill this year is that I can finally fit into large shirts and medium pants after years of XXL and XL of the former and latter.

I mean the rest sucks, but that’s pretty nice.

Wil’s got a point, guys.

Also, yes get a bigger fence, but also fuck the Prime Directive whenever you feel like it, apparently.

People at ren fairs are usually in pretty good spirits and good humor. Considering there are people dressed as wizards and elves, I think they’d be okay with Star Trek time travelers.

Of all the things to criticize Reddit for, taking steps to protect people from seeing material that might cause them real trauma doesn’t feel like one of them.

They used to think that sort of thing was cool in the 90s.

They were right. I stand by this claim.

Ever seen a wild turkey? They’re basically velociraptors. The toms have big sharp spurs on their legs and they will attack you if they even think you’re looking at a hen funny.

Oh for god’s sake. I said:

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. I WISH I COULD BUILD A GIANT MAZE IN A PARKING GARAGE OR PERHAPS AN ABANDONED FACTORY AND PUT YOU IN IT AND WATCH YOU SOLVE VARIOUS PUZZLES IN ORDER TO RECEIVE PEANUTS AND SEEDS!

Tangentially related- My name is the same as that of a 1970s song title and chorus and I worked in a place where a co-worker spoke that line to me every time he saw me every single day. I wanted to kill him by the time I left. I also hate that song. And no, I won’t tell you what song.

Don’t forget the fact that he was aggressively homophobic and refused Gene’s wishes to depict the HIV/AIDS crisis in multiple episodes or even have a gay character on the show, including blacklisting a script about the crisis titled Blood and Fire. Not to mention shooting down the Garak/Bashir connection that both actors actively wanted and refusing to allow Malcom in Enterprise to be gay despite his actor also specifically playing him as gay.

There was also the push to have a male actor play the main androgynous alien in The Outcast that Riker falls for. Frakes was all for it. Berman nixed it.

Every time he tries to smile it looks fake. Every single time. He literally does not know how to do one of the most basic of human expressions.

If a homeless person is going to use that money for drugs or alcohol, good. I would too if I was homeless and needed to forget it for a little while.
