MigratingtoLemmy,

Ah, sucks

MigratingtoLemmy,

Could you take a look at deepl.com’s API? It’s supposed to be better than Google translate for European languages

MigratingtoLemmy,

It can connect to any open WiFi in that case. I don’t take such risks.

MigratingtoLemmy,

What is “setting”?

MigratingtoLemmy,

TBH I haven’t used helix extensively, but I do like that I can just expect things like auto-complete and linting to work, which I would usually expect from something like vscodium, but that’s not cli. So yes, helix is nice. I’m just a bit afraid that I’ll forget my vim bindings because helix does things a little differently: wd instead of dw

MigratingtoLemmy, (edited )

Wait a second, how did you realise that OP adheres to Unix philosophy?

MigratingtoLemmy,

Wtf, I didn’t know that Libreboot wasn’t fully libre any more. I agree with the FSF’s ideology here. The only reason to run Libreboot over Coreboot was 100% FOSS, and if that’s not the case, then there is no point to it anymore.

Thanks for mentioning the other projects, I’ll take a look

Z-Library Blog: "Unprecedented seizure of our domains with books on rare languages" (z-library.se)

Today we are forced to share some sad news - yesterday many of our domains were seized again. We should highlight that the majority of the seized domains were not mirrors of the Z-Library website. Instead, they were separate sub-projects, containing only books in rare languages of the world, and their blocking is perplexing. For...

MigratingtoLemmy,

Could you explain your complaints with blockchains and web3? Genuinely curious

MigratingtoLemmy,

I had a question: in the $12/year plan from Racknerd, is the deal tied to a specific instance which you can spin up for that much money? Or can I just shut it down and switch it on the next day without extra charges?

I’m trying to find an API to use with Racknerd (SolusVM, but their documentation is a bit confusing for me) to be able to pull up VMs on demand. I basically want a new IP for my VM everyday, however requesting a new IP from Racknerd incurs fees, or so I have heard.

MigratingtoLemmy,

Which means that if you shut it down, the plan is nullified?

MigratingtoLemmy,

I see. Thanks.

MigratingtoLemmy,

Ah, you mean email being used as a direct alternative to issue reports? I get it now, and TBH this makes intuitive sense. Thanks

MigratingtoLemmy,

Ah, that clears it up! I feel silly that the idea of the ISP doing a reverse-lookup on my traffic didn’t occur to me, thanks.

MigratingtoLemmy,

Ah yes, forgot about that. Thanks

MigratingtoLemmy,

They won’t be able to get to my SNI if I’m using ECH, yes? I just assumed ECH was secure enough but I don’t know much

MigratingtoLemmy,

The point being that if one can find the domain through which they push said script/the script itself, they can disable it (I use NoScript).

MigratingtoLemmy,

Thanks for the tip.

That was meant as a joke at the end; however, you’re right. Being nice has been giving me fewer positive results by the month.

MigratingtoLemmy,

The artists I mentioned in my comment are whom I have listened to recently

MigratingtoLemmy,

What does that mean? You want to decrypt messages from Session and compare it to how much time it takes to decrypt messages on Signal?

MigratingtoLemmy,

No. I'll use RSS to lurk on subs that don't move, but this more and fragmentation has pushed me to finally try and curb my endless scrolling habits (by utilising IRC, I now only go through small bytes of content, and if I don't feel like it is important, I don't waste any more time).
