A single slice of stuffed crust would be a sushi attached to a toast. The ends are open once you cut it into a slice. A FULL stuffed crust would be a calzone and a toast.
I love how many people are going on about how one generation isn’t the cause of all our problems. I agree. Neither the post nor the website say anything good nor bad about any generation, just that it’s -mildly interesting- that boomers just hit 1/3 dead.
There’s a huge gulf between what this comic says (essentially housing, a basic human necessity) should be free, and what you’re attacking (everything is free). One of those is ABSOLUTELY doable. We live in a world of gross excess, if we stop arguing over how to kill people more efficiently, stop worrying about printing more money, we could give people a small home. Of course someone still has to pay/work for it, no one’s stupid lol.
Even if it’s a “shoebox apartment” it’s better than streets. It’s one of the basic requirements for life. And who’s to say that provided home has to be your only option?
It shouldn’t be an investment at all. It should be used. It’s like saying water is a good investment. Sure, if you make it artificially scarce and are okay with a ton of people going without… Nestle.
I have, but I was a child and very much not plugging it in the right way. It was in a very cramped space I couldn’t see, and dumbass me thought holding the metal would give me better control. It did, I made it into the plug.
We’re getting into the nature of free will, whether or not it exists at all. One of the hardest questions we’ve never really been able to answer, and quite possibly never will.
What if the well is merely looking into the infinite possibilities and determining who the true love is based on what will happen anyway? What if she also made a wish at another well at the same time, also for true love? What if she didn’t exist at all, prior to his wish, and was created as his true love?
like you know you’re a good person at heart but life circumstances and trauma and bullying and etc prevented you from learning the proper social skills to find companionship. not necessarily a forum to actually find friends (i find going into things with that intention feels fake and weird), but rather a forum to commiserate...
I’ve quite liked HealthyGamerGGs discord channel. It has spaces pretty much dedicated to exactly what you’re looking for, practicing social situations in safe spaces. Coaching that’s not the hyper masculine pick-up game kind of coaching. Places to ask advice, mental health spaces, etc.
Goddddddddd this and HBO. I’m already on your fuckin platform, show me the show. If you REALLY need to push whatever new BS cash grab you’ve got, put it in a new releases section.
There’s only so much that can be done to meet one’s needs. There will always be wants and needs that go unfulfilled, it’s just the nature of being human. Being able to exist with that, without it causing you extreme distress, is a very valuable coping skill that’s lost in a lot of people.
This doesn’t mean eschew meeting your needs completely, but simply acknowledging that some may be actually impossible to fulfill right now, at least safely, and working on an actual viable plan, instead of panicking and doing whatever short-term fix seems handy.
The thing therapy has helped me with in regards to that is feeling okay despite it all. Being content despite not having all of our wants and needs fulfilled is a valuable skill.
I have never once oiled my pasta water. I have also never once had my pasta stick. Just add enough water, boil, salt, pasta. Cook til it’s done, I literally never stir the pasta. Test for texture every so often. Drain, save some water for marrying with the sauce better.
I didn’t say it had to be an individual who needed to help. It could be any number of programs, services, or even yeah, individuals.
I mentioned mixed use buildings in another part of this thread, something like an apartment complex with a bodega-like grocery on the first floor or directly attached. What about moving more towards that kind of building? There are a ton of solutions that don’t require cars.
Rural life is a whole different beast from urban. I won’t ever make the argument that rural living people shouldn’t have cars. So yeah, plus one for that argument.
I love that self checkout used to be convenient and quick, but now it’s lower, way too many people trying to use them because they can’t pay people, and you still even have to deal with someone on the way out of the store anyway. Really glad that’s how stuff has evolved.
