It is, and it’s even cheaper if you raise your own. Plus it’s better quality meat.

Why do christian apologists say the name of the person they're talking to so often?

I’m sure there are other groups that do it too, but I’ve noticed it most often from christian apologists, probably in part case I like listening to debates/discussions with them from atheist youtubers, but I’ve also noticed it talking to christians myself....

I’m definitely not one this works on. It just turns me off and makes me a lot less likely to trust you. I read through that BS pretty quickly.

What are the best steps to reduce the wealth of billionaires?

There are a myriad of news articles here on Lemmy that display the abhorrent influence billionaires have on our society (especially the US, where I reside). I consistently read comments where the posters appear hopeless and despondent of the situation, while others jokingly refer to the guillotine....

When the billionaires themselves are telling us to tax the crap out of them then why aren’t we?

This is brilliant in its simplicity.

Literally just finished cooking Mexican chicken in one for Taco Tuesday. One of our favorite small appliances.

Which of the U.S. national parks in this image do you think is the most worth visiting? There are three exceptions. (lemmy.world)

We’re talking about a vacation this summer so we can plan ahead. My mother (who will pay for it) said she’d love to go to Yellowstone, but it looks like it’s about a 24-hour drive for us. Still, I like the idea of going to a national park. We’re in Indiana, so this image shows about the limits of where we’re willing to...

Definitely read that one before the movie came out. Excellent read. Great suggestion anyway!

If you want to add personality then start buying stuff or collecting things from where you enjoy going.

UpstairsOne wall is dedicated to pictures of family. Son’s bedroom is tractor themed and has one wall in John Deere green, another wall has a large laser cut tractor cling on it. Daughter’s bedroom is horse themed with a mural that a friend’s daughter painted, opposite wall is purple. Laundry room is clothing themed, kidding ;). Master bedroom and bath is beach themed with pictures from Hawaii and our favorite OBX beach and bed wall is teal. Loft is music themed with a piano and flute + things.

Main FloorOther walls in the house have bamboo cutting boards of the states we have family in, our state flag on wood, a large picture of our a bunch of doors in our hometown that our friend took and we framed, flags hanging vertically in my office (it has high ceilings), a wood laser cutting of my wife’s profession, a painting my father made in our dining room. Opposite wall has a massive picture of one of our favorite places . Entryway has a 4 shelf unit that has beer steins, Lladro sculptures, a piece of wood from the log home my father in law built (and we helped with), a large heart shaped price of granite rock from a friend’s property in the Rockies, lots of Tinkerbell stuff (wife’s mother loved her), lots of Hawaiian themed things (we love Kauai).

BasementMovie themed. Wife’s craft room is Harry Potter themed. Theater has movie posters and a large Disney castle picture over the couch. We also have a movie popcorn maker on an electric fireplace which is a lot of fun. Son’s bedroom is space themed since he loves that.

All of that took us ~20 years to collect. My wife looks at Pinterest and other places for ideas others have done and then incorporates what we like. Don’t worry about what other people will think of what you do. They want to see your personality, that’s the fun part!

It’s on for Messaging apps, email, and specific apps I with want or need notifications for. I don’t have it on for any social media apps, I check those on my own time when I please. All sounds are off thanks to my Apple Watch that vibrates.

Besides what’s already been said, pictures of family and friends is something he can’t buy.

This is such an immature take.

Microsoft basically owns the enterprise world because they simply do Enterprise and business better than anyone else.

Apple sells appliances. They’re great for people who don’t have time to babysit a Linux distro.

The last mosaic has the inscription:

VOTIS XXX MVLTIS ❧ XX BIS XX CVRANTE YACINTHO COMITE FABRICA AD SVMMVM PER DVCTA ES CVLMEN

Translation

For vows on the thirtieth anniversary of the rule of the emperor, and more (vows) for (another) twenty years, and twenty more years again. Under the care of Hyacinthos holding an office, building, to the highest summit, you were drawn.

Notes

Edit: I thought it was Constantine I, but it is more likely the emperor is Constantius II based on numismatic evidence. For comite, see L&S s.v. comes II.E.

This is a response better than I deserve. Well done and totally agree with all of your points, especially the being wrong bit.

I just cut my intake in half at lunch and dinner. I find my body needs a decent breakfast with protein. Lunch can be whatever just cut in half and dinner needs to be a decent balance of protein, carbs/starch, and veggie. Oh and lots of water. I cut out the sugary drinks, took a month to wean me off but now I prefer no or low sugar drinks and feel a lot better.

In my mind, the midwest is west of the Mississippi and through the plains. Colorado starts the traditional west with Texas being the exception.

Mid Altlantic exists as well.

And, to be fair, successful engineers/whatever rarely want to be in management. They’ve identified they’re great at what they do and happy to continue doing it if the pay is right. A lot end up moving to management because the pay tends to be higher and then not being great and hating it.

Great managers are great at managing people and processes, not necessarily doing the processes. They understand human psychology to inspire, motivate, and bring teams together. That’s a rare find because that’s largely misunderstood, unfortunately. This is super frustrating because there are plenty of great books/seminars on how to identify and be great managers. The information is out there.

Wait, when did they add that!? Super cool!

For anyone else who can’t find it, it’s on the main screen, scroll down to the averages looking widget, Tap.

What app is that?

QuarterSwede,
@QuarterSwede@lemmy.world avatar

My kids had Snap Circuits but it’s a bit complex for a toddler. It’s probably the most basic circuit designer I can think of though. They did a great job. If an adult is helping it would be fun for both.
