The DCEU ends not with a bang, but a wimper. (lemmy.ml)

10 years after Zod’s snapped neck, Martha, “some kinda Suicide Squad”, CGI moustache, rennouncing your wish, the hiearchy of power changing, and Speed Force PS1 graphics, the DC Extended Universe finally comes to a close. And it ends the same way it started - with a Rotten score....

Wouldn’t know. I kinda stopped paying attention lately lol.

How about off with their heads since they’ll just find ways to dodge taxes?

It isn’t like billionaires constantly ruin the life’s of people and are only in the position they are by stepping over the corpses and suffering of others OH WAIT

Just FYI: Elon musk inherited his wealth literally from an emerald mine. Jeff Bezos is known for his current atrocities against his employees. Bernard Anault is in kahoots with genocidal dictators. You don’t become a billionaire without violating human rights.

Seriously I kind of miss the “Internet playground” era of 10 years ago. It felt like you could easily find not just one but multiple close knit groups for ANYTHING you might enjoy. It was easy to engage with people without huge effort.

Nowadays it’s monolithic corporate groups. Soulless without the close interactions. Content is at an all time high yet simultaneously true interactions are dead. Forget about trying to find multiple groups, they all have been cannibalised into a singular Uber corpo group if it exists at all.

For me it’s the early 2010 internet. Where technological advances made navigating it easy and you could with no effort find several groups chatting about topics you liked. Information was easily available yet it felt extremely personal too.

That was before everything became ultra monolithic and corporate. You’ll be lucky if you find even just one active forum for something you like and more often then not it’s been cannibalised by one of the megacorp pages like YouTube or reddit where interactions are all dull and dead, soulless posting only for menial engagement instead of making friends

That’s actually exactly how chemo works. It microwaves your cells on a molecular level!

Edit: turns out I confused it with radiation therapy!

I used microwaving as a verb, as in cooking. English can be weird like that but I didn’t mean the literal frequency range. My bad

It’s also because it was meant to be read by lords and nobles to teach them the basics of war. A lot of them were EXTREMELY disconnected with reality and didn’t even fathom basic shit like “Oh yeah your troops need food. They can’t just forage mid war like animals would”

It’s called an event space and it can’t be occupied all year. There’s stuff going on pretty frequently but when it ain’t, it’s gonna have to be a skatepark + parking lot.

It ain’t just Christmas. There’s holiday markets for every season and even off holiday there is frequent flea markets. It’s even where popular bands will hold their concerts. Without a dedicated space like that, it’s impossible to set up these kind of markets and fairs. It’s inevitable that some days it’ll sit empty.

You try setting up a ferris wheel and rollercoaster in the cramped areas of the city. It won’t work.

You mean a park LIKE THIS? https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/2fc8c921-a5bd-4958-b6ce-fa08ec22e3f7.jpeg

Parasites serve an important role in both the food chain and to curb species that are too dominant.

I intend to be above parasites in the food chain and win

That’s actually exactly why it took the Romans so long to technologically advance. “The slaves do the job well enough”.

The idea of water powered mills and general aqueducts were mind-blowing to them and took a while to catch on. It seemed utterly unfathomable when everyone relied so much on slaves

Some older apple devices. I usually despise apple devices but their strong points usually are big screen + good camera while also being piss easy to use for non techsavvy people.

Why y’all hate corn dogs here? I tried some once and they were fine. Not great but pretty decent.

I should add I’m not American. So corn dogs over here might be different
