Telodzrum,

This just results in larger complexes being owned exclusively by the ultra rich. This idea outlaws the very concept of a co-op.

Telodzrum,

Bottles are bad. There’s a reason that the industry is, often due to public welfare regulations, moving away from them.

Telodzrum,

Vista Service Pack 2 was a solid OS, XP actually needed a few service packs to get fully to the place people remember it being great.

Telodzrum,

Even on Windows, you only get full bitrate Netflix playback in the UWP Windows Store app.

Telodzrum,

Mastodon for non-traditional journalism and traditional journalism supplemented with blogs and newsletters is what I go with.

Telodzrum, (edited )

I’m done with Windows and YouTube videos that should have been a written post.

Telodzrum,

Calling anywhere in Greater Houston “the middle of an urban area” is just incorrect. It’s the 4th most populated city in the US and the 150th most densely populated. There are a lot of people in Houston but also just a fucking Tom of Houston around. But, as is the norm in this magazine, you are all free to ignore facts and data so you can raise a furor in your tiny anti-car cult.

Telodzrum,

Yeah, this place is dumb as hell and you idiots need to know that.

Telodzrum,

We can set aside how Geordi conducted himself after the hologram had been made as well, if you’d like. That doesn’t even begin to address how he acted when the real Dr. Brahms came on board the ship. Dude’s a certfied incel creep.

Telodzrum,

It’s a boot manager, technically.

Telodzrum,

All six of you Luddites? You figure it out.

Telodzrum,

It’s part of systemd, just for those that use it.

Telodzrum,

Loud doesn’t mean numerous. Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, Fedora, Arch, and Manjaro take up almost all of the desktop install market.

Telodzrum,

I have no desire to engage with an objectively incorrect view. However, you are the second person to mention refind which I am unfamiliar with and I’m intrigued.

Telodzrum,

People are still using GRUB to dual boot? It’s not 2010 anymore. systemd-boot is the objectively superior choice.

Telodzrum,

Berkeley is a public school. They’re building government housing. But, it doesn’t matter to the groups who see outrage as a virtue and stall the progress they neverendingly clamor for.

Telodzrum,

SAAS is a scam

Telodzrum,

pCloud sells itself as a privacy-focused alternative to Dropbox, Google, iCloud, etc. They’re running a deal right now on lifetime accounts, too.

Telodzrum,

Technically, since the last episode takes place on the holodeck centuries after the events of ENT no one in made it to the end of the series.

Telodzrum,

Scotty beamed into the vacuum of space, that’s not a lot of respect either.

Hardware security key options?

I've been thinking about getting a hardware security key and have heard of yubikey before; but I want to see what my options are and if they are worth it in your opinion.
My current setup is a local KeePassXC database (that I sync between my PC and phone and also acts as TOTP authenticator app), I know that KeePass supports hardware keys for unlocking the database.

I am personally still of the belief that passwords are the safest when done right; but 2FA/MFA can greatly increase security on top of that (again, if done right).
The key work work together with already existing passwords, not replace them.

As I use linux as my primary OS I do expect it to support it and anything that doesn't I will have to pass on.

PS: what are the things I need to know about these hardware keys that's not being talked about too much, I am very much delving into new territory and want to make sure I'm properly educated before I delve in.

@linux @technology @technology @privacy

Telodzrum,

I’ve been using a Yubikey for years and I’m quite happy.

Telodzrum,

If you can’t remember the IP address of every site you’d like to visit, you don’t deserve the internet.
