Viking_Hippie,

Came to say this. For profit health insurance is an abomination and should be illegal.

Viking_Hippie,

Moral of the story: adulting sucks and beards rule.

Viking_Hippie,

Personally, I have a full beard and a strong chin. Problem is I also have an extra one of the latter.

Viking_Hippie, (edited )

I’ve definitely tried the latter two, but I’m not so sure about the first ones 😂

Viking_Hippie,

Actually, some 1st world countries such as for example Denmark, don’t allow ads for prescription medications at all. Which is the correct way.

Viking_Hippie,

I use uBlock Origin and Consent-o-Matic. Works like a charm!

Viking_Hippie,

My mom uses Edge, told me not to block Facebook ads and clicks on most of the clickbait articles on her MSN home page. It’s like she WANTS them to collect as much data to sell and spy on her as much as possible 🤦

Viking_Hippie,

You’re very welcome!

Viking_Hippie, (edited )

I’m sure there is, but tbh I don’t know how, since I don’t need it.

The way Consent-o-Matic works is that it accepts all, securely deletes all of it immediately before it can do anything. That way the site thinks you have all of it so it won’t ask again, but you actually get none of it.

All this plus removing the consent- and other pop-ups for you. A few of the nastier pop-ups might be on your screen for a tenth of a second or less as Consent-o-Matic gets rid of it for you, but otherwise it’s like they were never there to begin with!

Viking_Hippie,

sensible UK road and rail network planning

How many decades has it been since THAT last happened, though?

I say “in theory” because our government just scrapped HS2 phase 2, so our rail network is going to continue to be shit for years.

Oh. Same page, it would seem 😁

Viking_Hippie,

That makes it not vegan but last time I checked, vegetarians only steer clear of meat, not all animal products. It’s like veganism, but less obsessive.

Viking_Hippie,

anything that causes an animal to die to be consumed would not be vegetarian.

That would explicitly NOT include gelatin, which is made from the hooves and the like of animals already slaughtered for the parts people eat. Literally no one is slaughtering animals to make gelatin.

Viking_Hippie,

Now you’re just being wilfully obtuse.

Viking_Hippie,

None of those things are meat, no. Meat = muscle tissue. Bones, hooves and connective tissue are not muscle tissue.

Viking_Hippie,

It’s not a petty distinction, it’s an accurate and meaningful one: when I eat meat, an animal has been slaughtered for that purpose. When I eat or otherwise use gelatin, no animal has been slaughtered for that purpose as those parts are byproducts of animals already dead. Thus, no animal is killed for gelatine

Viking_Hippie,

The animal has to die for the product to get made

The animal has already died to make another product. There’s no additional animals killed to make gelatin.

There’s such a thing as avoiding waste

Exactly. Using the extra parts to make gelatin rather than just throwing them away is avoiding waste.

You wouldn’t slaughter an entire horse and just use the hooves, nor would you chop a chicken for just the wings. You use as much as you can

Yes, that’s what I’m saying!

Stuff like gelatin usually has multiple source animals precisely because it’s made of what used to be wasted

As opposed to killing any extra animals for gelatin. How the fuck can you keep disagreeing with the point you’re DESCRIBING in the affirmative??

There isn’t a way to extract these things without causing serious injury or death to the animal

You just described at length how no animal is killed for gelatin and as such using gelatin doesn’t involve any additional deaths versus NOT using gelatin. It’s not that difficult to understand…

Viking_Hippie,

…you mean like a 4yo? 🤔

Viking_Hippie,

Didn’t exist at all according to reality, though.

Even if he did, I’m not sure 10yos are such great partiers either 😄

Viking_Hippie, (edited )

Most of whom are religious people deferring to other religious historians who based their conclusions on a few vague accounts from romans and Jewish scholars that weren’t even born at the time.

Key sentence of any honest article about “historical Jesus”:

Documentary evidence outside of the New Testament is limited.

And as any rational person knows, the New Testament is part of a work of fiction based on old folk tales.

Viking_Hippie,

Romans kept pretty good records of what they did in Palestine

They were also known to twist history to suit their narratives and as the primary Christian power, pretending that their fictional guy was real very much suited their narrative.

To put it another way: since the Romans had a vested interest in the world believing he existed and there’s no contemporary records, the burden of proof has not been reached.

Viking_Hippie,

please do double down on those unsupported claims

Talking to yourself?

I’m not making any claims. I’m rejecting claims of announcing absolute truth based on little to no useful evidence.

Viking_Hippie,

it is other People that must disprove your belief

Other way around. It’s your belief that Jesus actually existed. I’m saying that the available evidence doesn’t adequately support your claim.

so wrapped up in your faith that you demand others must share it

My faith? Are you sure you’re replying to the right person? Because I’m not religious at all.

Simply two sides of the same faith based belief system.

Atheism is a faith based belief in the same way as “no car” is a type of car 🙄

Viking_Hippie,

Please stop replying to all of my comments with the same ridiculous misconceptions.
