I just deleted my entire library and redownloaded it.

A lot of my files were shitty 480p versions of movies from the Napster days. Now they’re all 1080p, with a few 720p exceptions (mainly tv series episodes). All in all 500 something files in total. Now just watching uTorrent slowly download them all. Hopefully my VPN keeps the eyes off of me…

I raw dog my torrents with no VPN

Can someone tell me the actual risks involved? I always thought it was so you didn’t get your ISP up your ass and shut you off, my power company is my ISP and they don’t give a shit

What really am I risking here?

Edit: US

One Plus 7 Pro had a camera that would physically dissappear when not in use.

Ending support for Windows 10 could send 240 million computers to the landfill. Why not install Linux on them? (gadgettendency.com)

With support ending for Windows 10, the most popular desktop operating system in the world currently, possibly 240 million pcs may be sent to the landfill. This is mostly due to Windows 11’s exorbitant requirements. This will most likely result in many pcs being immediately outdated, and prone to viruses. GNU/Linux may be...

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Do you think other people do things simply because they think you will care?

Considering how many comments you’ve copy pasted in this thread alone, it feels like you’re a corporate shill.

I’d hope you’d be getting paid for it, otherwise that’s just ew

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I think noting caterpillar is the same as say infant death rate for humans

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

If someone can gain physical access to your network, you’re already fucked.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Any text editor, but preferably a simple IDE or something like VS Code that’s not really an IDE but more than a text editor

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

I always assumed that hunter gatherer division was mostly down to the individual, some traits make some better at hunting than others.

I struggle to locate static objects, I for the fucking life of me just can’t see it. I’ll be looking for something and either look right over it or walk past it multiple times

But if I go outside and look in the trees I can spot all the squirrels within seconds. Not like that’s a talent or anything special, but my point is that I’d starve if I had to look for food in the brush, and likely I imagine these types of traits are what defined who did what job, meaning who was good at what, and likely considering lots of hunting was endurance based and not skill based at all, then most adults probably participated to some degree.

I’ve also gone shroom hunting and had to come back empty handed because I can’t see the god damned things.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Yeah, exactly that. It’s RIGHT FUCKING THERE but I’m not gonna see it.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

My mom never let me believe in Santa, and as a child I thought it was very surreal how all the kids in pre k and kindergarten were talking about it. I remember kids like actually crying and bawling their eyes out when they learned about it and I’m really glad I wasn’t subjected to that.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

…that’s the luxury part, dork. It’s not an option for everyone

How many of you run a Linux phone (Pine64, Librem etc) as your daily driver?

I was going through Pine64’s page again after I found the latest KDE announcement. With that said, I seem to see a lot of issues with firmware on the Pine, whilst the Librem is just plain out of budget for me. Was interested in how many people here run a Linux mobile as a daily driver, and how has your experience been?...

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Yeah Linux phone is a pipedream as long as Android works well at all.

The fact that you can use Termux kind of makes Linux phones moot, especially since you need a very specific set of hardware

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Show me a linux phone that isn’t an expensive paperweight after 2 years.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I need to get around to setting up the arr stack but I’ve been manually downloading torrents for over a decade now I just forget there are better solutions

The Distro Wars are good actually.?

If all the seemingly pointless discussions about which distro is better comes from attachment to a spesific distro and if a distro is just a way to interract with linux than all the discussion about witch distro is better etc. fundementally comes from a a place of love and appreciation for Linux as an OS....

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

This is why I supported a Tarantino Star Trek, to forever tarnish the brand with violence and language so much that Disney would be afraid to add it to their monolithic catalog of IPs
