Zorque,

The Naked Now, the second episode of The Next Generation.

Zorque,

It'd be nice if we didn't have to pigeon-hole ourselves into one skillset in order to survive.

Zorque,

Theres a ton of BBC adaptations, I believe. I know of at least Going Postal and Hogfather

Zorque,

Wasn't the second one built by an eccentric billionaire or something? Like a Howard Hughes type.

Zorque,

It's what real lions do when taking over a pride.

Zorque,

You not liking the first movie means other people didn't go? Who are you to have such an enormous effect on the cinema going audience...

Zorque,

Is it basically pitch black there these days, then?

Zorque,

It's not terrible, it's just incredibly underwhelming. It's a movie where occasionally things happen. Sometimes fantasy things happen. But somehow in the most boring way possible. Eventually the movie ended.

Zorque,

How far did they take the teen drama aspect of it?

Zorque,

I mean, Ben Affleck was da bomb in Phantoms, yo.

Zorque,

Strange to have such a high charisma rating for a plain, simple tailor...

Zorque,

Honestly, the TOS and TNG theme songs were different from the DS9 and Voyager themes. The former being more powerful, driving themes. The latter being more somber, contemplative themes.

It makes sense to change it up every once in a while. And honestly the more grounded, hopeful theme of Enterprise felt right for the theme of the show, setting up the eventual foundation of the United Federation of Planets at the end (spoilers, sorry).

Zorque,

TOS and TNG also had the voice over stating the Starfleet modus operandi.

Sometimes things are just different.

Zorque,

Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise.

Zorque,

O'brien's head on Bashir's body is going to give me nightmares. Sexy sexy nightmares.

Zorque,

The first two are completely different areas, one is a junction, the other is an access tunnel. Why would they be exactly the same if they don't have the same purpose?

I can't speak to the Lower Decks version, though.

Zorque,

I'm imagine if it was a different class of ship, it would also have different jeffries tubes. I think the Enterprise, Defiant, and Voyager tubes are all styled differently, but consistently with their ship. Not to mention the DS9 tubes would have to be different because they were designed by Cardassians (and built by Bajoran slave labor).

Zorque,

Different ships have different size requirements. There's lots of space in a Galaxy class starship, so the tubes can afford to be bigger (and thus easier for people to crawl through). The Defiant is a very utilitarian ship, so space is at a premium and thus the tubes are smaller.

Context matters, even if you don't care about it.

Zorque,

Nah, it's a giant spider egg.

Don't worry, though, when it hatches it will inexplicably lay an egg the same size and density as the first one somehow.

Zorque,

Oh, well, that makes sense then.

Zorque,

It's swiss? With a huge air bubble in the middle?

Zorque,

I don't see any speaking at all. In fact, they seem to be using non-verbal communication to make their transaction.
