I advise that you just don’t give a fuck if the order is coming through Amazon or not. Who’s to say whether they’re more evil than some other company that might fulfill your order. The thing you’re buying was probably made with exploitative labour practices from unethically sourced materials anyway. Simply shipping it to you is probably dependent on a global logistics network of fossil fuels and colonialism.
Just don’t think about it. There’s no way to buy things in this world and “do good” at the same time.
Personally I don’t believe that’s actually true. Some percentage of those people are NPCs whose models get culled as soon as I’m no longer looking at them.
I’ve been reading Mastering Regular Expressions by Jeffrey E.F. Friedl, and since nobody in my life (aside from my wife) cares, I thought I’d share something I’m pretty proud of. My first set of regular expressions, that I wrote myself to manipulate the text I’m working with....

You’re assuming I spend my time defending bad people, which I don’t do. I just use critical thinking and point out logical fallacies. I believe fallacies are always bad, even if they support a position I agree with.

Okay but unless you are spending a lot of time in the command line, one (POSIX compliant) shell is as good as another. Like yes every distro needs a shell, but I don’t much care which shell it is.
For me personally, trams are right up there. Aside from the main issue of sharing the roads instead of having a dedicated line, they really make it easy to get from one part of a city to another, especially for wheelchair users. They’re usually as frequent as buses, but much faster. The stations are much more attractive...
That order is almost the same for me but move bike way down. Having to own and maintain a piece of equipment to get around introduces a lot of the same problems as cars, just on a smaller scale. IMO getting around should be something the built environment facilitates without the individual needing to BYO vehicle
The setting is kinda depressing, but the story follows a group of characters who are trying to make some positive changes in the world, though they sometimes disagree on what that means. So you don’t have to think about the literal billions of people living in poverty on Earth, because the only Earther characters that matter in the story are the ones who escaped from the poverty
Sounds like you view the people with the tribalism gene as “them” and those who don’t carry that gene as “us”. Perhaps you are more tribalist than you think…
I’m being a bit cheeky but I honestly do think humanity would be better off if we acknowledged that certain character flaws are fundamental to human nature, rather than pretending that there are “good” people and “bad” people.
It’s almost like loudly announcing contempt for your userbase is not good for a website where virtually 100% of their value is derived from the loyalty of their users
The thing that gets me is that rif used to have a revenue sharing arrangement, which was axed when spez came in. He literally had a functional way of profiting off of third party apps and he threw it out.
