Not to nitpick but did you just say china and russia are bad because they make people suffer, then say never to deal in absolutes?
Absolutes in the sense of “they’re communist, they can’t be bad”. Ends don’t justify the means. America isn’t good because it’s “free” and “capitalist”. Russia isn’t good because it’s “strong” and “communist”.
People are assholes. Especially when they get the power to be assholes. A dogmatic easy system alone will not prevent that. This is a hard problem going all throughout human history.
You should read Animal Farm. It tackles the topic quite well.
Maybe they have been blocked by your instance. I still get content from there. That has actually been one of the reasons for me to create my own instance.

Total fabrication by the German documentary show “Quarks & Co” to demonstrate how one can be manipulated to hear stuff that isn’t there. To this day I can’t not hear it when listening to the song.
How about Wally Gubbins? A series of silly skydiving videos. My father has a ton of them on VHS. I loved it as a kid. I just looked, you can even find them on YouTube. So maybe not that obscure.
In terms of software I remember having several ad games. So, games that are basically just an ad. I had a Bifi game. Some weird game about colours where I don’t remember what it was for. And a “game” about Chesterfield Cigarettes. I remember that I had to install QuickTime Player to run it. It was basically like Google Streetview when you walked into buildings with a few interactive elements put in. No idea where I got it. Might even still have the CD somewhere.
Especially the early QM videos by Sabine Hossenfelder are great. Lately she’s just researching popular science news which may or may not be correct. But I like that she is at least stating her bias when she has one.
