I usually solve this kind of problem by piping to less or a logfile and then just searching in there. You can get it to refresh new content by pressing the End key twice. Or maybe less just needs the -f flag or something similar. I’m too lazy to look it up.
I like it to keep track of communities that don’t have enough members here to be very active. I don’t participate in the discussions, but it’s good in case some news come out that I would miss otherwise.
Lemmit.online is also good, because it actually lets you know that it’s mirroring reddit. There was another instance that was mirroring reddit including comments, without any indication. I started “participating” in the discussions until I caught on to the fact that I wasn’t getting any answers or up- or downvotes because it was just full of bots. It soon landed on my blacklist.
I know it’s a joke and all that. But do people really not get the line? I mean, sometimes it’s hard to grasp the lyrics of rap songs, especially when they’re rapping so fast and using obscure metaphors and references. But this one is delivered quite calmly and could be taken quite literally.
I was really surprised when I learned that they have any locations at all besides Germany. I remember when they were just starting out and I spoke to Mr Hetzner himself about a support issue. Good times.
