If you’re ok with living in the middle of nowhere, then it’s entirely doable. Some folks just have different priorities.

For instance, here is a property in Yucca Valley, CA that has a hanger in the backyard, where you can head out right on the runway from your yard. Just under $300k. There’s an entire street of houses that are adjacent to the runway of a small municipal airstrip, I think they call them fly in/fly out communities. They’re often well off the beaten path, but you don’t have to pay for storage when you have a hanger out back.

If you think about average hotel construction, most are built similarly; bathroom right as you walk in, bed(s) further out, and a window. I’d wager this is due to keeping the plumbing more centralized to the building core, especially the waste pipes. If you ran the bathrooms to the outer edge of the building, that would increase the length of the plumbing laterals, more space between floors to accommodate greater slope of the waste pipes (and a greater risk of them becoming clogged), and reduced water pressure (without upsizing a pressure pump). It just becomes more economical to build this way, especially when you add a number of floors.

One of my best friends has a whole bunch of Israeli cousins that I’m friendly with when they’ve visited the states. According to them, a lot of Israeli people have a lot of Palestinian friends and vice versa, especially the younger generations, it’s primarily the Israeli government and Hamas that keep this shit going. Most of the average people don’t take issue with each other outside of extremists and nationalists on either side, they’d rather just all get along. They say the issue tends to lie with governing authority over holy sites, that Israel is trying to be the big kid on the block in the region, and the Palestinians just want to live in peace with equal rights and to not be treated as substandard citizens on their own land and are rightfully pissed that they keep getting pushed around.
