can,

They couldn’t handle the influx of users from new instances with open registration as they only had 4 admins.

can, (edited )

I mean this. . I just checked and do see a post from 4 days ago so maybe they recently reversed it?

Edit: nope

So you can “subscribe” and maybe even comment but no one on beehaw will see it. I see now that one new post I saw was from someone on my instance.

Signal leaked random contacts to me! (feddit.de)

When I press on some message to forward it, it shows me Random usernames of contacts I don’t know. And it even shows some Mobile Numbers I don’t know. For example, one number starts with +964 that’s Iraq. I’m from Europe tho. These contacts and numbers are from all over the place....

can,

Did I miss where OP said they’re in France?

can,

Here’s a video to make up for it.

Also, you should trim everything after the question mark in YouTube links. That’s how they track you.

I love that you’ve made that connection.

For those out of the loop.

and and another great example

There’s a small chance you’ll get a letter with no follow-up.

can,

I guess they think torrent = tor?

can,

That was me asking actually. I saw someone upvoted the question but I can’t see anything. Weird

issues with QbitTorrent stalled torrents

I am just getting back my sea legs, but apparently they’re pretty shaky because I can’t get my ubuntu torrent (no seriously, it is) to download. It never starts downloading and is stuck in “stalled”. I’ve tried a number of things, but even with default settings it isn’t starting. I’m using proton VPN on Linux Mint,...

can,

I think I need a visual. How do they look in the binder now?

When I get a lack of sleep, I often have a splitting headache the next day. Other people never get any headaches. What's wrong with me?

When I get a lack of sleep (or especially multiple nights of bad sleep), I often have a splitting headache the next day that makes me unfunctional and worsens until I get more sleep. Other people I’m with have the exact same sleeping routines and never get any headaches, and can still function despite being tired. What’s...

can,

You can dislike a video without an extension. You just can’t see a number.

can,

You’ll find another where you are.

With the way the world's going, is there even a point to anything anymore?

Climate is fucked, animals continue to go extinct even more, our money will be worth nothing the coming years… What motivation do I even have to care to keep going? The world is ran and basically owned by corrupt rich people, there’s poverty, war, etc. It makes me sick to my stomach the way to world is. So I ask, why bother...

can,

Gonna die anyway, might as well see how it plays out 🤷‍♂️

I feel like /c/memes has taught us a valuable lesson today: Would it make sense to develop a feature to block a comm from our feed for a selectable unit of time (1 hour, 1 day, etc.)?

Even if we’re subscribed to them? Could a temp block exist in conjunction with a subscription? I love c/memes but holy shit no matter which sort I select by they’ve managed to overwhelm my feed.

can, (edited )

Timing of upvotes weighs it I believe. If people like your comment not long after it’s made its considered better than getting first vote an hour later.

In true ____ fashion I haven’t verified this myself.

Does the reddit style format breed toxicity?

Does the reddit style format inherently make for a toxic environment? Or is it a culture of toxicity from the influx of reditors? For lack of a beter example, on stackoverflow, when someone down votes you, it comes with a comment saying how to improve. On mastodon, people can’t downvote you. These platforms are a joy to use,...
